Interior y Policía reforesta en Bonao y La Vega; comité dará seguimiento a las siembras

Funcionarios y personal siembran más de 11 mil pinos maderables

 

El Ministerio de Interior y Policía (MIP) inició un programa de reforestación con la siembra de más de 11 mil pinos caribaea ((Caribbean pine) maderables en la comunidad La Cuchilla, paraje El Verde, en el municipio Bonao, de la provincia Monseñor Nouel y en la Loma de Guaigui, en Guarey, La Vega.

 

La iniciativa es parte del esfuerzo del Gobierno de contribuir al desarrollo y fortalecimiento del medio ambiente.

“Evidentemente, hay un compromiso, una voluntad política por mejorar y contribuir al medio ambiente”, destacó el ministro Jesús Vásquez Martínez.

En la jornada participaron junto a los funcionarios y personal del MIP, la gobernadora de Monseñor Nouel, Raquel Jiméne; el alcalde de Bonao, Eberto Núñez; el diputado Orlando Martínez y las autoridades del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente.

La iniciativa parte del compromiso asumido en la agenda 20-30, de la Organización de Naciones Unidas.

“Pero, esto no se queda aquí, estamos designando un Comité de Seguimiento conformado por colaboradores del Ministerio de Interior y Policía y de Medio Ambiente, para velar por el cuidado y mantenimiento de los árboles sembrados”, afirmó.

Exhortó a otras instituciones del Estado a asumir también este compromiso por la Patria.

Además, resaltó la entrega de los empleados que sacrificaron su día de descanso para cumplir con este compromiso por el medioambiente y el país.

Estos operativos son desarrollados el último sábado de cada mes en diferentes puntos del país, hasta lograr peinar toda la geografía nacional.
