SANTO DOMINGO ESTE.-La Policía Nacional confirmó que se suicidó este sábado de un disparo un teniente coronel de esa institución, en un hecho registrado en el sector de Invivienda del municipio Santo Domingo Este.

 

La víctima fue identificada como Kelin Medrano Nova, de 58 años de edad, quien se desempeñaba como enlace entre la Policía Turística (Politur) y la asociación de hoteleros en Punta Cana, en la provincia La Altagracia.

 

Medrano Nova murió a causa de herida por proyectil de arma de fuego, con entrada en temporal izquierdo y salida en temporal derecho, según el informe forense dado a conocer por la uniformada.

 

 

La Regional Santo Domingo Este de la Policía informó a El Nuevo Diario que investiga las circunstancias en que el alto oficial cometió el hecho.

 

De acuerdo a una fuente, Medrano Nova estaría padeciendo de depresión.

 

La misma fuente agregó que Montero tenía poco tiempo de haber regresado al país desde los Estado Unidos.

 

Medrano Nova tenía 40 años en la institución del orden y era uno de los oficiales con más tiempo en la zona turística de Verón-Bávaro, Punta Cana, y era considerado por sus compañeros como una persona “afable, siempre puesto ayudar a quienes le solicitaban ayudas”.
