Condenan a cinco años exalcalde del PLD por desfalco a Ayuntamiento de Las Terrenas

Junto al exalcalde, fue condenado a tres años de prisión el extesorero

SANTO DOMINGO.- Fue condenado a cinco años de prisión exalcalde de Las Terrenas, José Mercedes Martínez Emeterio, por cometer desfalco en perjuicio del Ayuntamiento de este municipio y del Estado Dominicano.

Junto al Martínez Emeterio, también fue condenado a tres años de prisión Willis Alberto Vilorio Sarante, por su participación en este desfalco.

El Tribunal Colegiado de la Cámara Penal del Juzgado de Primera Instancia de la provincia de Samaná, estuvo compuesto por los jueces Edward José Soto Soto, Luz Mariel Santos Alonzo, y Dilcia de Peña Green.

Se recuerda que se trata de la acusación presentada por el Ministerio Público en fecha 28 de abril del año 2015, como consecuencia de una querella interpuesta en contra del exalcalde por los regidores del Ayuntamiento Municipal de Las Terrenas y en virtud de múltiples violaciones a las leyes y distracción de fondos públicos encontradas en auditoría realizada por la Cámara de Cuentas a dicha alcaldía.
