COE aumenta a ocho las provincias en alerta verde y cuatro se mantienen en amarilla.

El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia (COE) informó este sábado que aumentó a ocho las provincias en alerta verde y mantiene cuatro en amarilla, ante posibles crecidas de ríos e inundaciones por la eventual presencia de una vaguada.

El organismo de emergencia indicó que en alerta amarilla se sitúan Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Monte Plata y San Pedro de Macorís.

El COE indicó que se prevé en horas de la tarde y noche aguaceros con tormentas eléctricas y ráfagas de viento debido a una vaguada que, de acuerdo a la Oficina Nacional de Meteorología (Onamet), se encuentra actualmente al este de Puerto Rico. Se prevé que otra, ubicada en la zona occidental de Cuba.

La intensidad de ambos fenómenos, además de la frecuencia, se incrementará de manera progresiva a medida que ingresen a territorio nacional.
