El sexteto femenino de la República Dominicana no confrontó problemas para vencer 3-0 este sábado a Serbia (25-14, 25-20 y 25-18), colocándose en el quinto puesto en la tabla de posiciones, en el penúltimo día de acción de la vuelta preliminar en la quinta semana de la Liga de Naciones.

Las pupilas de Marcos Kwiek tienen ahora acumulados un total de 27 puntos, igualadas con Japón y Turquía y está por encima de China con 24, Rusia 23 y Países Bajos con 23.

Ahora, las Caribeñas tienen marca de ocho ganados y seis perdidos, metidas de lleno en la lucha por la clasificación a la ronda semifinal de los mejores cuatro).

Habrá que esperar combinaciones de derrotas de China ante Estados Unidos y de Turquía ante Japón y que la República Dominicana triunfe ante Alemania este domingo para quedar entre los primeros cuatro, en la clasificación por puntos.

Este domingo, las dominicanas tendrán su último encuentro ante el combinado de Alemania a las 4:00 de la madrugada (hora dominicana).

Las triunfadoras mostraron en cada una de las tres estaciones su superioridad técnica en la cancha, mayor poderío ofensivo y buena defensa.

De su lado, Serbia tuvo problemas con su recepción a la hora de defender los ataques de las dominicanas, así como la pérdida de varios servicios fallidos.

El primer parcial fue sumamente cómodo para las atletas de la República Dominicana que iniciaron como una tromba con un rally de 7-0, gracias a varios ases de Gaila González.

Las criollas lograron aumentar la ventaja a 18-11 y luego 20.11 y 21-11 con fuertes remates de Yonkaira Peña y Gaila González.

En el segundo games, Serbia tomó la delantera en el marcador 4-3, pero, dos remates seguidos de Yonkaira Peña le devolvió la ventaja a las quisqueyanas 5-4, la cual jamás perdieron.

Las triunfadoras hicieron un espeso rally de 9-0 al pasar de 3-4, a 13-4, con buenos remates de Gaila González, Priscilla Rivera y Jineirys Martínez y una buena defensa en la central de Marifranchy Rodríguez.

En el tercero, Serbia salió con una nueva actitud y dominó el primer tiempo técnico 8-6 con buenos remates de Uzelac. Un remate de Priscilla Rivera le dio ventaja a Dominicana 11-10 y eso encendió un rally de 6-0 a favor de las criollas 16-10.

Remates de Priscilla Rivera, Yonkaia Peña consolidaron la victoria 25-18 para las campeonas panamericanas.
