Avería en teleférico de Puerto Plata mantiene 32 personas dentro de las cabinas

 

Una avería en una de las poleas del icónico teleférico de  Puerto Plata, en la Loma Isabel de Torres, paralizó las operaciones de las dos cabinas de esta atracción turística de la llamada «Novia del Atlántico», con un total de 32 personas a bordo.

 

La administración del teleférico informó que los técnicos del mismo trabajan con los equipos de emergencia para en primer lugar bajar a las personas que se encuentran encerradas en los mismos y proceder a corregir la avería.

 

La situación, que se ha prolongado por más de dos horas, ha provocado tensión y preocupación entre las personas que se encuentran encerradas dentro de la cabina.

 

El abogado Victor Reyes, quien se encuentra dentro de la cabina, publicó en su cuenta de Facebook una foto con el texto: “Seguimos aquí y los compañeros desesperados y muy preocupados”.

 

Que se recuerde, es la primera vez que se produce una avería de este tipo en el funicular que está operando desde 1975 cuando fue inaugurado por el entonces presidente Joaquín Balaguer, construido por la firma italiana Ceretti e Tanfani.

 

Durante 45 años ha sido modelo de operación sin incidentes de ningún tipo.

 

Administrador presentó renuncia

 

El administrador del teleférico, Rafael Núñez, presentó renuncia a esa posición que venía ocupando desde el pasado gobierno y fue designado como administrador del Centro Médico Bournigal, el más grande centro de salud privado de la provincia.

 

Hasta el momento no se ha designado un sustituto y Núñez continúa realizando ambas funciones en espera de entregar a su sustituto.

 

Además del administrador, la entidad cuenta con un patronato que supervisa la gestión designado hace años por el Poder Ejecutivo.
