La primera dama de la República, Raquel Arbaje y el contralor Catalino Correa Hiciano, encabezaron una jornada de salud femenina, en el marco del Mes de Sensibilización sobre el Cáncer de Mama, que busca concienciar sobre la importancia de la detección a tiempo de esa enfermedad.

 

 

Las palabras de bienvenida estuvieron a cargo del contralor Correa Hiciano quien expresó: «El cáncer es uno de los grandes flagelos de la humanidad y particularmente el Cáncer de Mama que ha lacerado y ha hecho sufrir tanto a nuestras mujeres. Por eso, en este día y en este mes de octubre que está dedicado a la prevención del cáncer, hemos querido reunir a las servidoras de la Contraloría General de la República para que reciban las orientaciones contenidas en la conferencia titulada “Prevención del Cáncer de Mama».

 

El contralor dijo sentirse honrado con la presencia de la primera dama Raquel Arbaje, en esta actividad. «Hemos querido que en este encuentro esté presente una mujer que viene luchando por este problema y por muchos otros que afectan a la sociedad dominicana», manifestó.

La Primera Dama, quien auspicia el Programa de Detección Oportuna de Cáncer, bajo el lema ¡Chequéate! y que se realiza de manera gratuita en hospitales y unidades móviles en diferentes puntos del país, dirigió unas palabras de motivación a las servidoras.

 

 

“Tengo un particular compromiso con la salud de las mujeres de nuestro país, por lo que junto al SNS, SeNaSa y Salud Pública, trabajamos sin descanso para lograr que la incidencia de los cánceres de mama y cérvico uterino disminuya de manera notable”, sostuvo Arbaje.

 

En el marco de esta actividad se impartió la charla educativa: “Prevención del Cáncer de Mama”, a cargo de la doctora Gaurys Manuela Sisa Tejeda, especialista en ginecología y obstetricia y en educación de salud de la ARS Humano.

 

La jornada incluye también consultas médicas en ginecología, evaluación de mamas, entrega de material educativo y otras actividades preventivas que se realizan en ocasión del Día Internacional de la Lucha Contra el Cáncer de Mama, que se celebra este 19 de octubre.

 

Este evento fue coordinado por Divina Almonte, directora de Recursos Humanos de la Contraloría, quien explicó que las consultas se extenderán hasta este jueves, en horario de 9:00 a. m. a 4:00 p. m., para abarcar a más de 800 colaboradoras que brindan servicio en la institución.

 

«Para nosotros ha sido un grato placer contar con la participación de todos ustedes y les garantizamos que desde la Contraloría General de la República continuaremos aunando esfuerzos y voluntades para crear conciencia en la mujer dominicana, acerca de la importancia de una detección temprana del Cáncer de mama», expresó Almonte en sus palabras de agradecimiento.
