Presidente dice por primera vez «en años» RD podría exportar carne de res hacia los Estados Unidos

Santo Domingo, RD-Tanto el presidente Luis Abinader como los principales directivos de la Confederación Nacional de Productores Agropecuarios (Confenagro) coincidieron en que la producción agrícola «ayudó» al país a sobrepasar la crisis generada por el impacto del coronavirus (Covid-19).

 

Durante la celebración de la asamblea anual de Confenagro, que contó con la participación de Abinader, la frase «sin producción no hay nación» fue mencionada en varias ocasiones en el transcurso del acto.

La primera mencion fue realizada por el saliente presidente de la Confederación, Erick Rivero, en su discurso despedida mientras enaltecía la labor de los productores durante su gestión.

 

«En estos tiempos difíciles como los que a usted le ha tocado gobernar, inclusive antes de las elecciones, con la pandemia y otras situaciones dentro de nuestro sector, como por ejemplo la reciente declaración de la Peste Porcina Africana, de la cual también saldremos airosos, sólo podemos agregar que gracias a Dios estamos en sus manos, y en sus manos queda que nuestra confederación de productores agropecuarios y su gente salga fortalecida el día de hoy y sigan siendo un instrumento de colaboración, de planificación y de compromiso con el desarrollo del país…sin producción no hay nación», manifestó Rivero durante su intervención.

Otra de las menciones la realizó el presidente Abinader al momento de resaltar la labor de los agricultores ante el impacto de la pandemia.

 

«Yo apoyo eso de que sin producción no hay nación, sin eso el país no hubiera aguantado el embiste de la pandemia», agregó el mandatario.

 

Abinader dijo que la pandemia y la crisis que ha generado ha impactado en los precios de los productos de la canasta familiar pero que semanalmente se reúnen las diferentes entidades y comisiones para definir cuáles productos están en una inflación y cuáles precios deben de ser «vigilados».

 

 

«Ya no es tiempo de teorías, es tiempo de aplicar lo que nos hemos prometido», exclamó el jefe de Estado.

 

Además se informó que en los próximos días vendrán inspectores norteamericanos para auditar productos y lograr que por primera vez «en años» exportar carne de res hacia los Estados Unidos.

 

El presidente tomó el juramento de la nueva directiva y se denominó como miembro de Confenagro, además recibió de parte de la Conferencion al considerarlo un aliado de los productores.

 

 

Wilfredo Cabrera fue escogido como nuevo presidente de Confenagro en sustitución de Erick Rivero, quien se queda como vicepresidente en la dirección ejecutiva.
