_En la competencia organizada por el Ministerio de Defensa RD y el Comando Sur EEUU con la participación de 22 países, Colombia gana el primer lugar; RD queda de sexto._
Santo Domingo. – El presidente Luis Abinader encabezó este jueves la ceremonia de clausura de la competencia internacional “Fuerzas Comando 2023” con la participación de 22 países, evento organizado por el Ministerio de Defensa (MIDE) y el Comando Sur del Ejército de los Estados Unidos de América.
En la actividad, junto al ministro de Defensa teniente general Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, ERD, y la titular del Comando Sur del Ejército de los Estados Unidos, general Laura Richardson, el presidente Abinader entregó a la delegación de Colombia la gran copa “Fuerzas Comando 2023” por obtener el primer lugar de la competencia multinacional de operaciones especiales con 1,734 puntos.
República Dominicana quedó en la posición número 6, con 1,205 puntos frente a las Fuerzas Especiales del Hemisferio, y el segundo lugar en pruebas físicas. En segundo lugar de la competencia, quedó Panamá con 1,439 puntos y México en tercero, con 1,369.
En «Fuerzas Comando 2023” participaron República Dominicana, Colombia, Panamá, Estados Unidos, Brasil, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador, Jamaica, Perú, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Argentina, México, Honduras, Paraguay, Trinidad y Tobago, Belice, Barbados, Saint Vincent, Santa Lucía y Grenada.
A su llegada al Campamento Militar 16 de Agosto, donde tienen su sede la Comandancia General del Ejército y la Primera Brigada de Infantería, el presidente Abinader, Autoridad Suprema de las Fuerzas Armadas y la Policía Nacional, acompañado de la primera dama Raquel Arbaje, fue recibido con los honores militares de estilo correspondientes a su alta investidura.
En el evento, el ministro de Defensa Díaz Morfa expresó que, esta competencia constituye un hito, una gran oportunidad para ponderar los logros alcanzados por los comandos de las naciones involucradas, generando altos estándares competitivos, espíritu de cuerpo e identificación y compromiso misional de todos, frente a los desafíos de seguridad y defensa Hemisférica, pues los mayores logros se fraguaron en las fraternales amistades entrañables y los vínculos institucionales.
«Justo es reconocer la disposición, compromiso y apoyo total de nuestra autoridad suprema, el excelentisimo presidente constitucional de la República, Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona. Desde el primer día que le comenté al presidente de la competencia, me dijo, cuenten con mi apoyo», expresó el ministro de Defensa.
En tanto, la comandante del Comando Sur del Ejército de los Estados Unidos, general Laura Richardson, agradeció al presidente Abinader y al ministro Díaz Morfa por permitir que la República Dominicana sea anfitriona de esta competencia internacional que promueve cooperación y confianza , que dijo es la más grande en sus 19 años de historia y elogió las habilidades exhibidas por los competidores militares.
Mientras que, el supervisor general de “Fuerzas Comando 2023”, general de brigada José Manuel Durán Ynfante, detalló que durante la primera semana de la competencia, estos equipos fueron evaluados en una prueba física y en eventos de tiro con estrés en sus diferentes modalidades para francotirador y asaltantes, tanto en los polígonos como en la casa de tiro y agregó que en el trascurso de la segunda semana fueron realizados los eventos más exigentes en el ámbito físico.
Durante once días los competidores enfrentaron pruebas y agotadores desafíos, para fortalecer sus capacidades y listeza operacional. En la jornada, las delegaciones también fortalecieron la coordinación y el trabajo en equipo, con entrenamientos enfocados y dirigidos a proteger la región contra acciones desestabilizadoras.
Los ejercicios de tácticas y técnicas en el terreno de Fuerzas Comando 2023 se desarrollaron en un ambiente de confraternidad y armonía en el campamento militar de Sierra Prieta, en Yamasá. Se ejecutaron competencias de equipos de asalto y francotiradores, rescate de rehenes, manejo de armas (pistola, fusil de asalto y fusil de precisión). También hubo actividades acuáticas, realizadas en la Base Naval “Las Calderas”, de Baní.
“Fuerzas Comando 2023”, es un ejercicio militar que tiene por finalidad consolidar las relaciones de cooperación entre las naciones aliadas y reforzar la formación de las unidades élite que deben enfrentar las nuevas amenazas.
Estuvieron presentes los comandantes generales de la Armada Dominicana, vicealmirante Francisco Sosa Castillo y del Ejército de República Dominicana, mayor general Carlos Fernández Onofre; el subcomandante general de la Fuerza Aérea Dominicana, general de brigada Mauricio Fernández García; el encargado de Negocios en la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en Santo Domingo, Isiah Parnell; el comandante del Comando de Operaciones Especiales del Comando Sur de los Estados Unidos, general de brigada Peter D. Huntley, US Army.
Además, el director general de la Policía Nacional, mayor general Eduardo Alberto Then; el director general de la Policía Nacional, general de brigada Julio César Betances Hernández; el rector del Instituto Superior para la Defensa «General Juan Pablo Duarte y Díez» (INSUDE), general de brigada Francisco Antonio Ovalle Pichardo; los viceministros de Defensa para Asuntos Aéreos y Espaciales, mayor general piloto Leonel Amílcar Muñoz Noboa; para Asuntos Militares, mayor general Julio Ernesto Florián Pérez y para Asuntos Navales y Costeros, vicealmirante Ramón Gustavo Betances Hernández.
