Presidente Abinader concluye jornada de actividades en La Romana y San Pedro; entrega reconstruido emblemático Polideportivo Eleoncio Mercedes

La Romana y San Pedro de Macorís. – El presidente Luis Abinader concluyó está sábado una jornada de actividades en La Romana y San Pedro de Macorís inaugurando el reconstruido Polideportivo Eleoncio Mercedes, dejando iniciados los trabajos de construcción de la Universidad de La Romana (UNIROMANA), inaugurando dos nuevas naves en la zona franca de San Pedro de Macorís y almorzando con los trabajadores de los organismos de socorro de La Romana.

El mandatario entregó el emblemático polideportivo Eleoncio Mercedes, de esta provincia, que beneficiará a más de 140 mil jóvenes de la Región Este del país, que se realizó a través de la Comisión Presidencial de Apoyo al Desarrollo Provincial (CPADP), que preside Ángel De la Cruz y contó con una inversión de más de RD$130 millones de pesos.

Durante al acto, la Asociación de Baloncesto de La Romana (ASOBARO), encabezado por su presidente Fermín Amador, entregó un reconocimiento al presidente Abinader por sus aportes al desarrollo del deporte, por recuperar las instalaciones deportivas emblemáticas de la Región y además, resolutaron dedicarle el tornero superior del próximo mes de octubre.

El mandatario expresó que este polideportivo tiene para él un significado muy especial porque estas instalaciones se realizaron con fondos que en una operación que dirigió su padre, don Rafael Abinader siendo contralor general de la República pudo recuperar cerca de 39 millones de dólares para varias obras de la Región Este del país, pero especialmente,en La Romana.

De su lado, el presidente la CPADP, Ángel De la Cruz, aseguró que el gobierno encabezado por el presidente Abinader tiene un compromiso con el impulso del deporte en la zona Este y todo el país y lo definió como un presidente que escucha, actúa, cumple y le da seguimiento a las principales deficiencias de los territorios y está sembrando de obras prioritarias la República Dominicana.

De la Cruz manifestó que este polideportivo es el más importante de la Región Este y ha sido la plataforma de muchos atletas dominicanos como el mismo Eleoncio Mercedes, Pedro Julio Nolasco, Héctor Báez, Jesús Manuel Santana, Manuel González, José El Grillo Vargas, Alfredo «Tito» Horford, entre otros”, que también fueron reconocidos durante el acto.

Previamente, el mandatario sostuvo un almuerzo con los representantes de la Cruz Roja, Defensa Civil y los Bomberos de la provincia donde interactuó con sus miembros y les explicó que las solicitudes expuestas, se irán solucionando por nivel de prioridad.

Más temprano, el presidente Abinader encabezó el acto de primer palazo para la construcción de las edificaciones de la Universidad de La Romana (UNIROMANA), proyecto promovido por la Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (FUNIBER) y la Universidad Europea del Atlántico, de España.

Durante el evento, el ministro de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología, Franklin García Fermín, destacó que, el hecho de que FUNIBER haya decidido crear la Universidad de La Romana es una demostración de que en este Gobierno de Abinader la economía funciona muy bien y la República Dominicana disfruta de seguridad jurídica, pues dijo, de lo contrario la fundación no estaría invirtiendo en esta primera etapa, más de 20 millones de dólares en la institución cuyos cimientos se establecerán en estos espacios.

En tanto, el presidente de la Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (FUNIBER), Santos Gracia Villar, expresó su agradecimiento al presidente Abinader por su presencia en el evento y agregó que, es una muestra de su compromiso permanente con el progreso del pueblo dominicano. Resaltó la profesionalidad, la transparencia, la agilidad y el rigor que caracterizan al Gobierno y a la administración del mandatario dominicano.

«Esta ceremonia tiene lugar sólo tres meses después de la celebración de la Vigésima Octava Cumbre Iberoamericana de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno, que reunió en Santo Domingo a los mandatarios de los países de lenguas española y portuguesa de América y la Península Ibérica. Esa convocatoria ha sido muestra del liderazgo dominicano en el ámbito multilateral internacional», indicó Gracia Villar.

Para culminar su agenda de trabajo el presidente Abinader junto al ministro de Industria, Comercio y Mipymes, Víctor Bisonó, asistió a la inauguración de la expansión de las bodegas de envejecimiento y el taller de recuperación y construcción de barricas de la empresa de Rones y Bebidas del Caribe Yazoo con una con una inversión de RD$1,045 millones y que generarán unos 250 nuevos empleos directos y 1500 indirectos.

Los empresarios Luis Enrique Yaver, presidente de Rones y Bebidas del Caribe Yazoo y Alberto Nogueira director de Ron Barceló valoraron el clima de inversión que existe en la República Dominicana.

El presidente de Rones y Bebidas del Caribe Yazoo dijo que gracias al crecimiento sostenido, la empresa exporta ron a granel a más de 55 países y elaboran más de 375 productos diferentes siendo un marca país a nivel internacional.

Mientras que Nogueira, manifestó que la inauguración de la nave de la nueva nave de añejamiento es muestra al clima de inversión existente en la República Dominicana gracias a los avances que ha venido realizando el gobierno en el estímulo a las inversiones y el fortalecimiento institucional lo que demuestra que el país es un destino acogedor para los negocios.

En las actividades acompañaron al presidente Abinader gobernadora de la provincia de La Romana, Jacqueline Fernández; el senador de La Romana, Iván Silva; los viceministros Administrativo de la Presidencia, Igor Rodríguez; de Deporte, Franklin de la Mota; el presidente de la Comisión Presidencial de Apoyo al Desarrollo Barrial, Rolfi Rojas; el gerente general de EDEEste, Andrés Portes; el director de INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez; los diputados, Olfany Méndez, Eugenio Cedeño y Pedro Botello y el ex pelotero, Edwin Encarnación. Además de los directores de Proindustria, Ulises Rodríguez y del CEA, Rafael Burgos, del Indotel, Nelson Arroyo y la gobernadora de San Pedro Aracelis Villanueva, entre otros.
