Les cantan tres meses de prisión preventiva contra chofer de patana que embistió autobús escolar en Hato Mayor

La jueza del Tribunal de Tránsito de la provincia Hato Mayor impuso tres meses de prisión al chófer de la patana que embistió un autobús escolar que dejó tres muertos y 15 heridos.

Ismael Daniel Matos, de 24 años, deberá cumplir la pena en el Centro de Corrección y Rehabilitación de San Pedro de Macorís.

En el accidente perdieron la vida dos estudiantes, Alexandra Preveé y Jennifer Castillo, ambas de 15 años y que cursaban el séptimo curso. Además, falleció el conductor del autobús escolar, luego de varios días en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, José Benéfico Rosario.

La magistrada Joerly Rodríguez, había intentado conocer el caso en dos ocasiones, posponiéndose para dar oportunidad a que los victimarios y abogados de ambas partes estuvieran presentes en el juicio.

El accidente ocurrió el pasado 23 de mayo en la carretera que conecta Hato Mayor con Sabana de la Mar, específicamente en el kilómetro 10 1/2 en la comunidad El Manchado.

Los testigos coinciden en que el conductor de la patana, viajaba a alta velocidad, lo que contribuyó a que perdiera el control del vehículo, colisionando violentamente con el autobús que se encontraba parado. El vehículo escolar que transportaba a estudiantes del Liceo Wenceslao Peguero.
