El papa llama al «diálogo» en una Navidad bajo la sombra de la pandemia

Ciudad del Vaticano, Santa Sede- El papa Francisco pidió el sábado diálogo para contrarrestar la tendencia a cerrarse sobre sí mismo provocada por la pandemia de covid-19, que marcó por segundo año consecutivo la Navidad de miles de millones de personas.

 

 

En su tradicional bendición Urbi et Orbi del día de Navidad, el sumo pontífice recordó a los fieles congregados en la plaza de San Pedro que «en este tiempo de pandemia (…) se pone a prueba nuestra capacidad de relaciones sociales, se refuerza la tendencia a cerrarse, a valerse por uno mismo, a renunciar a salir, a encontrarse, a colaborar».

 

«También en el ámbito internacional existe el riesgo de no querer dialogar, el riesgo de que la complejidad de la crisis induzca a elegir atajos, en vez de los caminos más lentos del diálogo», añadió.

 

 

Como es tradicional el papa recordó las zonas del mundo azotadas por conflictos y también abordó las consecuencias económicas y sociales de la crisis sanitaria, que ensombrece la Navidad por segundo año consecutivo.

 

Francisco pidió que no se permita «que se propaguen en Ucrania las metástasis de un conflicto gangrenoso», por las tensiones entre Kiev y Moscú, que hacen temer una escalada militar.

 

Y recordó las tragedias «olvidadas» del conflicto en Yemen y Siria, que «ha provocado muchas víctimas y un número incalculable de refugiados».

En el día de ayer viernes por la noche, el papa, de 85 años, celebró la tradicional misa de Navidad en la basílica San Pedro de Roma antes 2.000 fieles con mascarilla, e invitó a los cristianos a «redescubrir las pequeñas cosas de la vida».
