EL INAPA informa un millón de dominicanos más recibe el servicio de agua potable

El director ejecutivo del Instituto Nacional de Aguas Potables y Alcantarillados (INAPA), Wellington Arnaud, informó que en su primer año de gestión ha logrado que un millón de dominicanos más reciba agua potable, con una inversión superior a RD$1,700 millones de pesos.

Destacó que, desde sus primeros días de gestión, se inició el Plan Nacional de Rescate de las Infraestructuras del INAPA, mediante el cual fueron puestos en operación una gran parte de los sistemas de acueductos y alcantarillados encontrados parcialmente inactivos y otros en total abandono.

 

A través de este plan se rehabilitó la planta potabilizadora de Guanuma – Los Botados; la puesta en funcionamiento de la planta potabilizadora de Hato Mayor; el mejoramiento de los sistemas en La Altagracia, Barahona y San Cristóbal y el inicio de los trabajos de rehabilitación de la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales de Barahona, entre otros.

 

Además, se intervinieron redes colectoras, plantas depuradoras, estaciones de bombeo de aguas residuales y acometidas domiciliarias en los más de 40 sistemas de alcantarillados sanitarios pertenecientes a distintas comunidades bajo la jurisdicción del INAPA.

El funcionario dijo también que, en este primer año de gestión, se ejecutaron proyectos de capital por la suma de RD$1,229 millones de pesos, distribuidos en unas 92 obras de rehabilitación, ampliación y construcción de sistemas de acueductos y alcantarillados sanitarios, para dar cumplimiento a la Estrategia Nacional de Desarrollo, garantizando el acceso universal a esos servicios, con calidad, continuidad y eficiencia.

 

De igual modo, destacó que, como parte de las metas establecidas en el Plan de Inversión Pública, la gestión ha incorporado al Sistema Nacional de Inversión Pública (SNIP) un total de 68 nuevos proyectos de acueductos y alcantarillados.

 

Dijo también que, mediante la implementación del Plan Nacional de Crecimiento de Usuarios, se generaron 11,471 nuevos contratos.

Reiteró el compromiso de seguir trabajando en una gestión eficiente, eficaz y transparente para cumplir con la meta del presidente Luis Abinader de llevar agua potable a cada hogar dominicano.

En otro orden, Wellington Arnaud destacó que, teniendo la transparencia y la integridad como valores predominantes en sus acciones, el INAPA ha mantenido puntuaciones sobresalientes en el cumplimiento de la Ley 200-04, de transparencia, y se encamina hacia las certificaciones ISO 37001 y 9001, de gestión antisoborno y de calidad, respectivamente, para la implementación del Sistema de Gestión Integrado, las cuales se encuentran en un 70 % de cumplimiento.

En ese sentido, resaltó, además, el cumplimiento en un 90 % de la certificación ISO 17025, que acredita los laboratorios de ensayo y calibración.

 

De igual modo, Arnaud dijo que, con el objetivo de apoyar el fortalecimiento institucional, se realizaron trabajos de documentación y mejora de procesos de apoyo a lo interno de la institución, lo cual se refleja en los valores alcanzados en los indicadores del Sistema de Monitoreo y Medición de la Gestión Pública.

 

Restablecimiento del servicio. En otro orden, el INAPA informó que han sido restablecidos en más de un 98 por ciento los sistemas sacados de servicio por prevención ante el paso por el país de las tormentas Fred y Grace, esto gracias al efectivo trabajo del Comité de Emergencias de la institución.
