Los fallecimientos por intoxicación con alcohol adulterada subieron 127, mientras que los afectados suman 326.

La Procuraduría y el Ministerio de Defensa decomisaron desde febrero 2,141 galones de diferentes tipos de alcohol adulterado y desmantelaron cuatro fábricas en Barahona, Invivienda, Guerra y Los Llanos, San Pedro de Macorís.

Además, se han intervenido unos 400 comercios en diferentes puntos de la geografía nacional, suspendido actividades comerciales en 8 establecimientos, dos de estas fábricas ubicadas en San Francisco de Macorís, decomisado 7,166 botellas de ron y whisky de diferentes tamaños y marcas, etiquetadas y listas para la distribución y comercialización.

“Solo en el operativo de los Botados, Municipio de Cabral, en la provincia Barahona, se decomisó el mayor volumen de todos, totalizando 1,303 galones; esto es un equivalente a 12,248 botellas; en total, 34 personas han sido a presadas, para los cuales esperamos que se les apliquen las sanciones establecidas en el marco legal vigente”, apuntó el ministro de Industria y Comercio, Ito Bisonó en rueda de prensa en el Palacio Nacional.
