Ya la Cámara de Cuentas tiene nuevo representantes.

El Senado escogió este martes a los miembros de la Cámara de Cuentas, tras un proceso de entrevistas y un informe presentado por la comisión que estudió las ternas que envió la Cámara de Diputados.

Los nuevos miembros son Janel Andrés Ramírez, como presidente; Elsa Catano, vicepresidenta; Tomasina Tolentino Mckenzie, secretaria; Mario Fernández Burgos y Elsa María Peña Peña.

La elección de los miembros había sufrido algunos contratiempos y no fue hasta este martes que se ha hecho el anuncio. El Senado había recibido en marzo las ternas enviadas por los diputados.

Antes de darse a conocer los nuevos integrantes del órgano fiscalizador, Antonio Taveras, presidente de la comisión. había dicho que trabajaban “por una Cámara de Cuentas como lo demanda la sociedad”.

Con relación al retraso que ha habido para la elección, el presidente de la comisión dijo que esto pasó por el asueto de Semana Santa y por ello fue aumentado el plazo para la rendición del informe. Se esperaba la entrega para el ocho de abril.

La Cámara de Cuentas ha estado en el “ojo del huracán” por las investigaciones a la actual gestión encabezada por Hugo Álvarez, Carlos Noés Tejada Díaz, secretario; Margarita Melenciano Corporán, Félix Álvarez Rivera y Pedro Antonio Ortiz Hernández.
