El titular de la Pepca explicó que el expediente tiene como imputados a 41 personas físicas y 22 empresas, así como más de 400 testigos.
SANTO DOMINGO.- “En Operación Medusa hemos depositado una acusación que no tiene precedente en la República Dominicana y les puedo asegurar que posiblemente no tiene precedente en toda la región”, aseguró este lunes el procurador adjunto Wilson Camacho.
El titular de la Procuraduría Especializada de Persecución de la Corrupción Administrativa (Pepca) explicó que la acusación depositada el sábado contra el entramado delictivo tiene como imputados, además del ex procurador general Jean Alain Rodríguez Sánchez, a otras 40 personas físicas y 22 empresas.
“Esta es nuestra acusación más grande, tiene un volumen de 12,274 páginas y dentro de esas más de 3,500 pruebas y entre las pruebas, más de 400 testigos”, indicó Camacho al ser abordado por los periodistas a su salida de la Corte de Apelación de Santo Domingo, en donde el juez Pedro Sánchez aplazó sin fecha la audiencia del Caso Odebrecht.
“En esa acusación hemos acusado a 41 personas físicas y hemos acusado a 22 empresas dentro del proceso”, indicó.
“Es justo señalar que el equipo que nos acompaña en las investigaciones de estas operaciones, ha tenido que parcialmente abandonar el resto de sus vidas para dedicarse en cuerpo y alma en construir esta acusación, que felizmente hemos llevado a su término y superar los obstáculos que hemos tenido que superar durante este proceso”, resaltó.
Respecto al alcance de la acusación indicó que, para hablar con franqueza, “ningún resumen que uno pueda hacer de ella le hace justicia”, razón por la que exhortó a los periodistas a esperar para que la conozcan cuando puedan tener acceso a su contenido a partir del momento en que los jueces lo permitan.
“Se trata de un entramado de corrupción que se ha descubierto en este proceso, que supera los 1,000 millones de pesos en sobornos y que es algo simple y llanamente escandaloso y nunca visto en la República Dominicana”, adelantó.
Reafirmó que la imputación incluye a las personas físicas y a las empresas contra las que el Ministerio Público acredita pruebas porque, como ha dicho en otra ocasión, “en la República Dominicana la corrupción no tiene lugar donde esconderse”.
“Hay, y ya lo habíamos dicho, una gran cantidad de acusados: personas físicas y empresas que aparecen por primera vez en la acusación, yo les ruego espérenla, vean la acusación”, insistió.
Los imputados de la Operación Medusa enfrentan cargos criminales por coalición de funcionarios, prevaricación, asociación de malhechores y estafa contra el Estado. También por sobornos, por cometer crímenes y delitos de alta tecnología, lavado de activos.
Por el caso guarda prisión el exprocurador Rodríguez Sánchez. También el exdirector de Tecnología de la Información y la Comunicación del Ministerio Público, Javier Alejandro Forteza Ibarra; el exdirector administrativo, Jonathan Joel Rodríguez Imbert, y Alfredo Alexander Solano Augusto, exsubdirector administrativo.
Jenny Marte Peña, exencargada de Proyectos, cumple arresto domiciliario, al igual que la exsubdirectora administrativa Altagracia Guillén Calzado, así como Rafael Antonio Mercedes Marte, exdirector de Contabilidad.
El proceso también se sigue contra el exasesor Miguel José Moya, a quien le fue impuesta una garantía económica de un millón de pesos en modalidad de contrato con compañía aseguradora, impedimento de salida y presentación periódica.
En el Caso Medusa está también involucrado Rafael Stefano Canó Sacco, el exjefe de Gabinete del exprocurador Rodríguez Sánchez, arrestado en España el pasado año y se solicitó su entrega a República Dominicana.
