El presidente de la república, Luis Abinader, y el director ejecutivo del Instituto Nacional de Aguas Potables (INAPA), Wellington Arnaud, inauguraron este sábado la planta potabilizadora y el depósito regulador del Acueducto Partido-La Gorra, en la provincia Dajabón, luego de 20 años de espera por parte de la comunidad, con una inversión estimada de RD$63,774,607.45.

“Cuando hacemos las cosas con corazón, logramos hacer mucho con poco. Esta es mi novena visita a Partido en este proceso. Confieso que, luego de la tercera, la gente empezó a creer que lo terminaríamos. Tenían razón de estar incrédulos porque en ocho años no habían ejecutado ni un 20 por ciento y, en apenas un año, estamos inaugurando el acueducto”, expresó.
El director ejecutivo del INAPA recordó que la gente de esta zona estaba recibiendo agua prácticamente cruda; por lo que constantemente se registraban enfermedades, siendo los niños y las mujeres los más afectados.
“Sin embargo, a partir de ahora, gracias al apoyo decidido de nuestro presidente, este municipio ya cuenta con una moderna planta de tratamiento de agua de 70 litros por segundo; por lo que Partido tendrá agua en cantidad, presión y, sobre todo, calidad, lo que garantiza la salud de nuestra gente”, precisó el funcionario.
Serán beneficiados más de 20 mil moradores de los poblados de Partido, La Gorra, Los Indios, El Llano, La Barrera, Aminilla, Sabana del Medio, El Junco, La Piña, García y Sangre Linda, entre otros.
Indicó que en la institución se trabaja sin descanso para cumplir con la promesa del presidente Abinader de llevar agua potable a cada hogar dominicano.
De su lado, el jefe de Estado manifestó que no hay desarrollo humano sin el agua y que, por ello, el Gobierno ha dado prioridad a este recurso.
Asimismo, ponderó la gestión de Arnaud al frente del INAPA, al explicar que, con poco más de RD$2,000 millones, ha llevado agua potable a más de 950 mil hogares.
“Eso se ha logrado administrando con eficiencia y con honestidad los recursos”, enfatizó.
La bendición de la obra estuvo a cargo del párroco Aquiles Ozuna.
Estuvieron presentes, además, el senador David Sosa; la gobernadora de Dajabón, Rosalba Milagros Peña; el alcalde del municipio de Partido, Ramón Olegario Lantigua; los diputados Darío de Jesús Zapata y Orlando Martínez; la dirigente comunitaria Dorka Almánzar; el ministro de Agricultura, Limber Cruz; el encargado provincial del INAPA, Kelvy Tejada; y el comunicador Salvador Holguín.
