_Mandatario dice gobierno está pagando financiamientos Petrocaribe usados por otros gobiernos hasta el 2015._
Barahona.- El presidente Luis Abinader dijo que las autoridades pasadas nunca pagaron el barril de petróleo por encima de 50 dólares porque tuvieron a Petrocaribe hasta el 2015.
Asimismo, recordó que desde el 2015 hasta el 2020 el precio del crudo se mantuvo por debajo de este precio en los mercados internacionales.
“Si yo tuviera un petrocaribe, los combustibles estarían más baratos”, puntualizó el mandatario.
Sostuvo que ese acuerdo le permitía al gobierno no pagar más de 50 dólares el barril, y cuando pasaba de ese precio era financiado a un interés muy bajo.
Sin embargo, dijo, que a la población se le transfería a 70 dólares el barril, como si fuera a ese precio que lo compraban.
El mandatario indicó que como consecuencia de eso, el gobierno, y el pueblo dominicano están pagando en la actualidad la deuda de esos intereses dejados de pagar a Venezuela por quienes se beneficiaron del acuerdo de Petrocaribe.
El presidente Abinader expresó que para evitar transferirle a la población el alza de los combustibles, consecuencia de los precios del petróleo, el gobierno debió asumir el monto de 500 millones de pesos en esta semana.
“Eso lo estamos logrando con los ahorros que estamos haciendo, administrando bien y con transparencia, los recursos del Estado”, agregó el mandatario.
“Nosotros estamos ahorrando para no darle ese golpe a la población dominicana», sostuvo.
«Si tuviera Petrocaribe las cosas fueran diferentes. Tendríamos los precios de los combustibles más baratos. Porque antes solamente lo pagaban a 50 dólares, sin embargo, lo vendía a 70 y además tenían una ganancia con un impuesto extra», expreso el mandatario» insistió.
Petrocaribe fue una alianza en materia petrolera entre algunos países del Caribe con Venezuela. La iniciativa por parte del Gobierno de Venezuela tenia como objetivo una alianza que consiste en que los países caribeños compren el petróleo venezolano en condiciones de pago preferencial.
Las declaraciones del presidente Abinader se produjeron en respuesta a la pregunta de un periodista, durante un encuentro con comunicadores de esta provincia.
