Presidente Abinader sale a la República Cooperativa de Guyana para fortalecer relaciones diplomáticas

Santo Domingo.- El Presidente Luis Abinader viajó este jueves a las 9:15 de la mañana a la República Cooperativa de Guyana donde sostendrá reuniones bilaterales y dejará inaugurada la sede de la Embajada Dominicana en el país suramericano.

La visita del jefe de Estado a la República Cooperativa de Guyana es un hecho histórico porque es la primera vez que se abre la sede de la Embajada Dominicana en el país suramericano y tiene un embajador asignado de manera permanente lo que representa un paso para el fortalecimiento de las relaciones diplomáticas entre ambas naciones establecidas desde 1970.

El mandatario partió junto a una comitiva oficial y empresarial en vuelo desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de Las Américas “José Francisco Peña Gómez” y está programado que arribe a las 12 del medio día al Aeropuerto Internacional de Cheddi Jagan.

El gobernante fue despedido por el Ministro de Defensa, teniente general Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa y el comandante de la Guardia Presidencial, general de brigada Guillermo Caro Cruz.

Entre las actividades programadas a la llegada del mandatario a Guyana está prevista una reunión bilateral con el presidente de la República Cooperativa de Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

El presidente Abinader, comitiva oficial y empresarial participarán también en un almuerzo a desarrollarse en el Centro de Convenciones Arthur Chung.

Además, sostendrá una reunión entre las comitivas oficial y empresarial de la República Dominicana y la República Cooperativa de Guyana, presidida por el presidente Luis Abinader y el primer ministro de la República Cooperativa de Guyana, Mark Phillips en el Salón Principal del Centro de Convenciones.

Posteriormente, el jefe de Estado se reunirá con la secretaria general de la Comunidad del Caribe, Carla Barnett en la sede del CARICOM.

Luego, se trasladarán hacia el Centro Corporativo Pegasus, sede de la embajada dominicana, para dejar formalmente inaugurada la sede diplomática en Guyana.

Al término de la misma, el presidente Abinader y su comitiva oficial y empresarial sostendrán un encuentro con la diáspora y presidirán un acto de reconocimiento a las dominicanas destacadas en Guyana, Leonida Minalla Foo y Gladys Accra.

Posteriormente, el jefe de Estado y su comitiva participarán en una cena ofrecida por el Presidente de la República Cooperativa de Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali en la Casa de Gobierno.

La comitiva oficial está integrada por el canciller Roberto Álvarez; los ministros, Administrativo de la Presidencia, José Ignacio Paliza; de Agricultura Limbert Cruz; de Energía y Minas, Antonio Almonte y el senador de la provincia Santo Domingo, Antonio Taveras; los directores de Portuaria, Jean Luis Rodríguez; de Prodominicana, Bibiana Ribeiro; la asistente del presidente Mercedes Pichardo; la directora de Gabinete, Lourdes Herrera; el director de Prensa, Daniel García Archibald y el jefe del Cuerpo de Seguridad Presidencial (CUSEP), Jimmy Arias Grullón.

También los viceministros de Industria y Comercio, Ramón Pérez Fermín y de Turismo Jacqueline Mora, así como el miembro de la Superintendencia de Valores, Miguel Núñez; la directora de relaciones internacionales y la gerente de inversión de Prodominicana, Maritza Bello y Zanony Severino y un grupo de empresarios dominicanos.

Además de los directores de Diario Libre, Inés Aizpún; de El Día, José Patricio Monegro; de El Nuevo Diario, Perdió Maldonado; de SIN, Alicia Ortega; de Telesistema, Roberto Cavada.

El retorno del mandatario dominicano y sus acompañantes está previsto para el viernes en horas de la mañana por el Aeropuerto Internacional de las Américas “José Francisco Peña Gómez”.
