Presidente Abinader inaugura primer tramo de la verja perimetral inteligente en Elías Piña que comienza a cambiar la frontera

_Mandatario reitera verja permitirá control eficiente del comercio bilateral y flujo migratorio, el combate del narcotráfico y crimen organizado_

Elías Piña. -El presidente Luis Abinader inauguró el primer tramo de la verja perimetral inteligente en la provincia fronteriza de Elías Piña, reiterando que la frontera ya no será nunca la misma.

“Hemos cambiado y queremos tener una relación en la frontera más segura, regulada y controlada. Y esto es irreversible”, puntualizó de manera contundente.

El mandatario calificó este proyecto como irrenunciable e imperativo ante la preocupante situación de inestabilidad política y crisis económica y social que se vive en Haití.

Al mismo tiempo destacó que bajo ningún concepto se permitirá en territorio dominicano, la falta de control que existe en el lado haitiano.

Todo esto, buscando mantener buenas relaciones de vecindad entre ambos países a la vez que se redoblan los esfuerzos para proteger nuestras fronteras y defender nuestra soberanía.

El tramo inaugurado este jueves tiene una longitud de 2.7 kilómetros con cuatro torres de vigilancia.

*Control eficiente del comercio bilateral y combate del crimen organizado*

La construcción de esta verja perimetral permitirá controlar de una forma mucho más eficiente el comercio bilateral, en beneficio de los dominicanos y dominicanas que diariamente intercambian productos a través de los pasos fronterizos, contribuyendo a la dinamización de la economía y al crecimiento económico.

De igual forma, permitirá regular los flujos migratorios para combatir las mafias que trafican con personas, hacer frente al narcotráfico, a la venta ilegal de armas y a proteger a los ganaderos y los productores agrícolas del robo a sus crianzas y sembradíos.

Otro de los propósitos del muro es combatir las distintas formas del crimen organizado que han querido tomar como base la frontera entre ambos países.

*Vigilancia 24 horas*

El ministro de Defensa, Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, apuntó que desde ya comienzan las operaciones de patrullaje y reconocimiento las 24 horas del día a ambos lados de la verja, construida en su totalidad sobre el territorio nacional.

También detalló las soluciones tecnológicas de la obra, integrando en un solo sistema la verja física con centros de mando con capacidad de comando, control, comunicaciones y computadoras C4, en los cruces formales de Dajabón, Elías Piña, Independecia y Pedernales, integrados al centro C5I.

Tendrá también fibra óptica, iluminación, sensores de movimiento, cámaras de videovigilancia con visión nocturna y diurna, radares terrestres y marítimos, torres de comunicación y vigilancia, unidades aéreas no tripuladas, entre otras herramientas.

Estuvieron presentes, los ministros, Administrativo de la Presidencia, José Ignacio Paliza; de Industria y Comercio, Víctor -Ito-Bisonó; la gobernadora Mily Johanna Martínez; los viceministros de Defensa para asuntos navales y costeros, ; para asuntos aéreos y especiales, Leonel Amílcar Múñoz Noboa; el inspector general de las Fuerzas Armadas, Miguel Rubio Báez.

También los comandantes, Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, del Ejército; Agustín Morillo Rodríguez, de la Armada; Carlos Ramón Febrillet Rodríguez, de la Fuerza Aérea; el director de la Policía Nacional, Eduardo Alberto Then, el alcalde de Comendador, José Núñez y el director de la obra, Luis Alberto Casanova.
