Presidente Abinader afirma abastecimiento de producción nacional ha sido garantía seguridad alimentaria en pandemia

_En esta gestión de Gobierno la agricultura ha sufrido una transformación positiva debido al financiamiento con 5 mil millones de pesos a tasa cero, la comercialización, plan de preparación de tierra y semilla gratuita en todo el país, el subsidio a los fertilizantes de 1700 millones de pesos y el trabajo en equipo en una misma dirección._

 

Santo Domingo.- El presidente Luis Abinader resaltó este jueves que la República Dominicana ha sido uno de los pocos  países donde no ha habido desabastecimiento de productos en medio de la pandemia, debido a un conjunto de acciones para garantizar la seguridad alimentaria.

Al encabezar una rueda de prensa acompañado de los líderes del Gabinete Agropecuario, el gobernante señaló como el Gobierno se ha enfocado en incentivar la producción de alimentos para combatir la crisis económica muy particular derivada de la coyuntura.

 

«Aquí nos hemos concentrado en el tema de la seguridad alimentaria y por eso hemos mostrado estos productos, sin embargo del sector agropecuario también, podemos mostrar una producción ascendente que lo demuestra el aumento en las exportaciones en el cacao, ascendente también en el café que estamos en pleno proceso de recuperación del sector cafetalero del país”, expuso el mandatario.

Destacó, además, que como apoyo a la producción nacional, desde que llegó al gobierno a aumentado el financiamiento en más de un 50% y se han entregado fondos directos de 10 mil 500 millones al Banco Agrícola, a parte de lo que disponía para financiamiento.

 

Dijo que este financiamiento ha sido uno de los factores más importantes para lograr una mayor producción.

 

Agregó que también se ha apoyado bastante al sector tabaquero, que está en su mejor momento, con aumento de un 30% de la producción, generando miles de empleos especialmente en la provincia de Santiago.

 

Indicó que de forma periódica el Gabinete Agropecuario y la mesa de precios se reúne para determinar donde es necesario actuar.

 

Asimismo, señaló, que los sectores del gobierno que tiene un gran consumo agropecuario, como es el caso del INABIE, los Comedores Económicos, el Plan Social de la Presidencia, el INESPRE, se reúnen coordinados por el Ministerio de Agricultura para determinar la estabilización de los precios, los productos que se deben comprar o bajar la presión, entre otros aspectos.

 

“Todo eso ha provocado que en las condiciones más difíciles que hemos tenido, porque este es un país con una economía muy abierta, lo que significa que dependemos mucho del comercio exterior, pues hemos logrado que no haya desabastecimiento”, añadió

 

Aseguró que el gobierno trabaja cada día para mitigar los efectos de la inflación que proviene del exterior y es un fenómeno mundial.

 

“Eso no quiere decir que no hay retos pendientes. Hay muchos retos, todos los días aparecen situaciones en todos los órdenes que tenemos que solucionar, lo que hay un gobierno que estamos pendientes de cualquier tema, de cualquier solución, también viendo oportunidades para poder entonces nosotros avanzar”, manifestó Abinader.

 

Aumento de la producción nacional

El ministro de Agricultura, Limber Cruz, manifestó que en el país se han alcanzado importantes logros en el aumento de la producción nacional, a pesar del desabastecimiento que existe en el mundo.

 

“Hoy hemos querido presentarle al país los logros del sector agropecuario, aún cuando todos saben que en en muchos países existe una inflación considerable y también en muchos países existe desabasto, que quizás es la peor de las situaciones que se pueden presentar cuando usted va a un supermercado, a un colmado y no encuentra lo que usted quiere aún cuando tiene el dinero”

 

Cruz presentó los 15 productos más importantes de la canasta familiar, haciendo una comparación del aumento de su producción del año 2020-2021 con los 5 años anteriores.

 

En ese sentido, informó que en los últimos 5 años la producción de arroz en la República Dominicana ha sido de 12.9 millones de quintales anual y su consumo es de 13 millones de quintales, equivalente a 1 millón 100 mil quintales mensual

 

“Ese producto, en el Gobierno del Cambio, en el 2021 nosotros aumentamos la producción a 14.42 millones de quintales , lo que quiere decir que restando los 13 millones que consume el país, nos sobran aún 1 millón 420 quintales de arroz para el consumo nacional y también para abastecer cualquier otra comunidad internacional”, comunicó.

 

También se refirió al plátano, otro de los productos más consumido por los dominicanos, que aumentó el promedio en 300 millones de unidades, representado casi un millón diario en el aumento de la producción nacional.

 

Al respecto, dijo que esto ha permitido que aún en épocas como enero y diciembre, el país pudo consumir plátano, desde 1 peso hasta 5 pesos distribuido por INESPRE, algo nunca antes visto en el invierno.

 

Asimismo, destacó que la papa a aumentado en consideración importante con más de 200 quintales adicionales. La yuca, en más de 100 quintales por año.

 

El ministro de Agricultura expuso, que sólo dos productos han disminuido como es el caso del ajo, que en los últimos 5 años venía en caída y que a la llegada de esta gestión de gobierno se encontraba en el peor momento, y el cerdo que disminuyó en un 10% producto de la fiebre porcina africana.

 

Añadió que para 2023 proyectan que la producción de ajo va a aumentar considerablemente porque se ha financiado su producción a tasa cero en Constanza y otros puntos del país y se ha ayudad significativamente a preparar más tierras para su siembra y con una variedad que tiene unos rendimientos de 3 a 4 veces por encima del promedio de la productividad.

 

Sobre el pollo, afirmó que nunca antes en República Dominicana se habían inyectado 3 millones de unidades adicionales que lo que circulan en diciembre, lo que provocó que en vez de subir de precio se logró una baja y que la gente pudiera comerlo a un precio razonable.

 

En relación a los huevos, expuso que se ha aumentado de 2 mil millones a 2,800 millones de unidades. También se aumentado en más de un 30% la cantidad de pollitas livianas, por lo que la oferta de huevo será incrementada significativamente.

 

Resaltó que la leche aumentó de de 814 a 840 millones de litros. Mientras que la producción de hortalizas bajo el sistema de ambiente controlado o invernadero y en campo abierto, que aumentó de 12.5 a 25 millones de libras mensuales de hortalizas

 

Igualmente, se refirió al aumento del aguacate. También del banano que presentó un incremento de 43 mil millones a 46 mil millones de unidades.

 

El mango ha aumentado de 106 mil a 144 mil y la cebolla que se producían 1 millón 357 quintales y hoy está en casi 1 millón 600 quintales.

 

Afirmó que en esta gestión de Gobierno la agricultura ha sufrido una transformación positiva que según consideró se ha debido al financiamiento con 5 mil millones de pesos a taza cero, la comercialización, plan de preparación de tierra y semilla gratuita en todo el país, el subsidio a los fertilizantes de 1700 millones de pesos y el trabajo en equipo en una misma dirección.

 

“La conciencia nuestra es mantener el consumo de los dominicanos y las dominicanas a precio razonable, pero también cuidar la rentabilidad del productor”, aseguró el ministro de Agricultura.

Acompañaron al presidente el administrador del Banco de Reservas, Samuel Pereyra; el administrador del Banco Agrícola, Fernando Durán; el director del INESPRE, Iván Hernández; el director del IAD, Guillermo García; el director del INDRHI, Olmedo Caba; el presidente del FEDA, Efraín Toribio y el director del FEDA, Hecmilio Galván.

 

También, Geovanny Molina, director General de Ganadería; Sócrates Díaz, director de MERCADOM; Leónidas Batista, director de INDOCAFE y Miguel Laureano, director de CONALECHE.
