El menor Ander Jesús Trino Rodríguez fue declarado fallecido mientras recibía atenciones en el hospital periférico del sector ensanche Libertad de la parte oeste de Santiago.
El policía fue detenido e identificado como Melvin Ericsson Muñoz de Jesús, de 22 años, cuñado la víctima.
Según las versiones, Muñoz de Jesús estaba limpiaba el arma de fuego, una Taurus de calibre 9 milímetros. prestada por otro policía, identificado como Alfonso Wander de la Rosa, de 28 años, quien tenía la responsabilidad de dicha arma.
La esposa del agente responsable del hecho de sangre, que también es hermana del niño fallecido, informó a las autoridades que el incidente en el sector El Semillero II de Cienfuegos fue accidental.
Era un niño alegre
Angelina Rodríguez Almonte, madre del niño, corrobora que «fue un accidente» y describió a su hijo como muy «alegre».
«Estaba en tercero, era alegre, contento y le gustaba jugar mucho… él llegó a la casa que andaba con su papá y cogió para donde su hermana de un pronto, y ahí sucedió todo…que fue un accidente nada más no se más nada», narró la madre del niño Angelina Rodríguez Almonte.
