Mueren 25 personas en naufragio en Haití

AUN NO SE HAN IDENTIFICADO LOS FALLECIDOS.

Anse-á-Pitre, Haiti– Unos 19 de 25 cadáveres fueron rescatados la tarde de este sábado de una embarcación que naufragó en las costas de Haití.

 

Según las autoridades haitianas, la embarcación iba sobrecargada, ya que aparte de las 25 personas también había varios sacos de cemento, garrafones de gasolina y alimentos varios.

 

Los nombres de los haitianos, entre hombres y mujeres, no fueron ofrecidos, pero se informó que entre los 25 haitianos, 19 fueron evacuados por buzos y autoridades y llevados a tierras para ser identificados y posteriormente sepultados.

 

 

En esos esfuerzos, las autoridades informaron que luego del hundimiento de la embarcación se hicieron esfuerzos para tratar de salvar algunos de los haitianos, entre ellos mujeres y dos bebés, pero por la cantidad de personas y la sobrecarga fue imposible.

 

Una de las personas ahogadas fue una mujer mayor de edad, que su cadáver fue transportado a la comunidad de Anse-á-Pitres donde fue sepultado por su estado de descomposición, según datos proveniente de haitianos que habitan la comunidad.

 

 

Según corresponsales de este medio en la frontera, la mayoría de los haitianos el pasado viernes participaron en el mercado fronterizo entre Pedernales y la comunidad de Anse-á-pitres, por donde se desarrolla el transbordo de productos manufacturados, mercancías y materiales de construcción, que fueron adquiridos y posteriormente resultaron dañados luego de hundirse la embarcación en el trayecto a la Costa de Marigot

 

El naufragio ha causado consternación entre los pobladores de Anse-á-Pitres de donde siempre salen algunas embarcaciones para trasladar mercancías y otros materiales hacia Marigot, Jacmel y otras comunidades de Haití.

 

 

Desesperación

 

En los últimos días se ha reportado la escasez de distintos productos en Haití, por lo que la desesperación se ha venido apoderando de los poblados al sudeste de Haití, donde se registran carencias de combustible y alimentos básicos.

 

Esa preocupación ha generado que muchos haitianos compren productos en el mercado que se desarrolla lunes y viernes de cada semana, así como adquirir gasolina al precio que sea para abastecer sus vehículos.
