Muere Johnny Ventura, gloria de la música dominicana

Murió la tarde de este miércoles el merenguero dominicana Juan de Dios Ventura Soriano, mejor conocido como Johnny Ventura en la Clínica Unión Médica  del Norte, en la provincia de Santiago.

 

La información fue dada a conocer por el merenguero Héctor Acosta El Torito, quien primero pidió oración por el músico de 81 años de edad, que fue ingresado por emergencia y luego en otro video dijo que había muerto.

 

El merenguero también conocido como el Caballo Mayor Innovó con sus letras y su pegajoso ritmo acompañado de su grupo El Combo-Show.

 

Logró además de sus movimientos al bailar y cantar popularizar canciones como el Tabaco es fuerte pero hay que fumarlo, Cuidado con el Cuabero, ¿Tú Sabes a Que Yo Vine?, Te Digo Ahorita, Salsa Pa’ Tu Lechón, El Pingüino, entre otros grandes éxitos.

 

Además de la música Ventura se ha Ventura se inclinó por el mundo de la política, primero en el Partido Revolucionario Dominicana y luego con el Partido de la Liberación Dominicana, para luego seguir al expresidente Leonel Fernández en la Fuerza del Pueblo.

 

Fue diputado y también alcalde de Santo Domingo, con Peggy Cabral como vicesíndica, en el período 1998-2002, impulsadas ambas candidaturas por el Partido Revolucionario Dominicano.

 

Su último merengue que alcanzó un gran repunte fue el tema popularizado “Se van” en contra de gobierno del Partido de la Liberación Dominicana.
