Ministro MIP anuncia reforma cuerpos de bomberos incluye aumento de sueldo y mejores seguros médicos

Nuevo presidente Unabom afirma seguirá trabajo para dignificar vida de esos servidores.

 

Santo Domingo.-El ministro de Interior y Policía, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, anunció que desde que finalice la reforma policial empezará la de los cuerpos de bomberos, para elevar la calidad de vida de sus miembros con aumento de sueldo y otros beneficios. Habló en la asamblea en la que la Unión Nacional de Bomberos (Unabom) eligió a su nuevo presidente, el intendente general de Santo Domingo Este, coronel Roberto Santos Méndez.

Citó entre las ventajas mejores seguros médicos, pensiones dignas y acciones para el bienestar suyo y de sus familias. Recordó la eficiente labor de esos servidores, a los que definió como ¨seguridad ciudadana¨.

Reiteró su pesar por la muerte de los tres bomberos en La Vega, “héroes que fallecieron para salvar la vida de otras personas y sus propiedades” y dijo que muchos trabajan de manera honorífica, por lo que es necesario fortalecer esa vocación desde niño, “como lo hace el general Luis Esmurdoc en San Francisco de Macorís”, presente en el acto.

La nueva directiva, aprobada a unanimidad por los intendentes en la asamblea, la integran también los coroneles Miguel Álvarez, director ejecutivo; José Luis Keppi y Jorge Antonio Mendoza, secretario general y tesorero y el general José Luis Frómeta Herasme, coordinador del Distrito Nacional; los coroneles Alexis Moscat, coordinador regional norte; Víctor Michelén, en el sur, y Andrés Lappot, estará en el Este.

Santos Méndez agradeció por su elección y afirmó que mantendrá sus esfuerzos para dignificar los cuerpos de bomberos, ya que su misión es trabajar como lo ha hecho en Santo Domingo Este, porque no conoce el miedo, ni el temor para servir a la patria.

«Haremos un levantamiento en todo el país para identificar cada una de las necesidades. Estaremos enfocados en la capacitación y en la canalización de donaciones de equipos para garantizar la efectividad del servicio pero sobre todo, trabajaremos sin descanso para dignificar la labor.»

Indicó que gestionarán salarios justos y así gratificar el trabajo de cada bombero, que ha entregado su servicio durante tanto tiempo por vocación.

La asamblea efectuada en la sede del ministerio y que presidió Vásquez Martínez incluyó la modificación de los estatutos de Unabom para acrecentar su desempeño.

 

Estuvieron Sixto Rafael Sánchez asesor nacional de la entidad; general José Luis Frómeta Adames, intendente del Distrito Nacional; el general Ángel Pías Ramírez, de Azua; Jairo Pérez Florián, de Bonao; coronel Menardo Quezada, secretario general de Unabom y Marcelo Francisco, delegado del director de la Liga Municipal Dominicana, Víctor D’ Aza.
