JARABACOA.- El ministro de Interior, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, se comprometió junto al director de la Policía y al presidente de la Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) a impulsar medidas puntuales que impidan manifestaciones de la delincuencia y la criminalidad en este municipio de la provincia La Vega.

Vásquez Martínez encabezó una reunión de los miembros de la Mesa Local de Seguridad, Ciudadanía y Género en Jarabacoa, donde escuchó los problemas que aquejan al municipio y las autoridades se comprometieron a unir esfuerzos con los dirigentes comunitarios, comerciantes, las juntas de vecinos, las iglesias y demás representantes de las organizaciones de esta zona turística-ecológica para darles respuesta a sus principales necesidades.

 

El ministro aseguró que con la implementación de la Estrategia Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana «Mi País Seguro», al igual que se ha hecho en el sector Cristo Rey del Distrito Nacional se coordinarán acciones para reducir los actos delincuenciales en los barrios de Jarabacoa para devolver la tranquilidad a la ciudadanía.

Advirtió que hay que cuidar a Jarabacoa, ya que la seguridad es un tema de todos, «y todos tenemos que hacer nuestro mayor esfuerzo para construir una sociedad pacífica».

De su lado, el director de la Policía Nacional, mayor general Edward Sánchez, garantizó que serán atendidas todas las denuncias que fueron hechas por los dirigentes comunitarios presentes y que se le buscará soluciones, especialmente al tema de los ruidos.

Sánchez atribuyó la contaminación sónica a la condición turística de Jarabacoa, uno de los sitios más frecuentados por su ecología, donde los fines de semana son rentadas villas y las personas para recrearse escuchan la música a un alto volumen, lo que provoca malestar en los munícipes.

Mientras que el presidente de la DNCD, vicealmirante José Cabrera Ulloa, afirmó que en Jarabacoa se trabaja para controlar el tema del tráfico y consumo de estupefacientes.

Cabrera Ulloa reveló que en menos de diez días han sido apresados alrededor de 20 personas por haber incurrido en la venta de drogas en el municipio y se comprometió a seguir trabajando en la lucha contra el narcotráfico.

En tanto que la viceministra de Seguridad Preventiva para Gobiernos Provinciales, Ángela Jáquez, alertó a la población por los accidentes de tránsito, tema en el que instó a prestar una mayor atención.

Durante la actividad también participaron la gobernadora de La Vega, Luisa Jiménez; la vicealcaldesa del municipio, Piedad Quezada; el coronel Luis Vargas Morillo, supervisor zonal; el teniente coronel Juan Acosta Reinoso, director de Seguridad de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (DIGESETT) en Jarabacoa, entre otras autoridades.
