Ministerio de Trabajo logra firma de pacto colectivo entre Falcondo y sindicato de trabajadores “Acuerdo incluye aumento salarial y pago retroactivo”

Santo Domingo. – Tras meses de negociaciones y gracias a la intermediación del Ministerio de Trabajo, la empresa Falconbridge Dominicana (Falcondo) y el Sindicato Unido de Trabajadores de dicha empresa minera, rubricaron el pacto colectivo de condiciones de trabajo.

La interveción del Ministerio se produjo debido a las dificultades que impedían que ambos sectores llegaran a un acuerdo, por lo que la firma del convenio representa un importante hito para ambas partes y para la continuidad de las operaciones del sector.

Durante la firma, la cual se produjo en un acto protocolar celebrado en la sede central del Ministerio de Trabajo la mañana de este miércoles, estuvieron presentes los señores Luis Miguel De Camps García, ministro de Trabajo; Ioannis Moutafis, presidente y gerente general de Falconbridge Dominicana S.A., y Valentín Ramírez, secretario general del Sindicato Unido de Trabajadores.

Al dirigirse a los presentes, el ministro Luis Miguel De Camps expresó que el convenio constituye un precedente importante para los trabajadores y para el sector privado, ya que demuestra que es posible la construcción de consensos mediante el diálogo incluyente, al respecto agregó: “Es escuchando todas las voces donde se encuentran las soluciones más viables y que vayan siempre en el beneficio de todos los involucrados”.

“Es importante entender que un país no camina en una sola dirección y hacia un solo lado de la carretera. Existen vías de ida y vuelta, cuyos espacios deben ser respetados y valorados por todas las partes. Aquí nuestro rol como ministerio es precisamente ser el tráfico que vela por que ambas partes del camino se dirijan en la dirección correcta con igualdad de derechos, cumpliendo las obligaciones que les competen a los vehículos a través de los que se mueven todos los intereses de cada sector”, concluyó De Camps.

En tanto que el presidente y gerente general de Falcondo, Ioannis Moutafis expresó que: “para la gerencia de Falcondo son dos las prioridades máximas: el respeto al ser humano y el respeto al medio ambiente, y es el resultado de estos dos compromisos el bienestar de su gente. Es por eso que hemos puesto gran empeño en trabajar cada uno de los puntos cubiertos en este nuevo convenio colectivo, en el que ambas partes hemos hecho concesiones importantes con el fin de construir aun mayor bienestar para quienes hacen posible que Falcondo pueda extraer lo mejor para los dominicanos”.

Aprovechó además la ocasión para agradecer el apoyo y acompañamiento de las autoridades de Ministerio de Trabajo, por las orientaciones y asesoría hacia ambas partes.

De su lado Valentín Ramírez secretario general del Sindicato Unido de los Trabajadores de Falconbridge expuso que: “Si bien el convenio impacta de manera directa a todos los trabajadores semanales, no menos cierto es que este produce un efecto cascada de mejoras de las condiciones laborales de los trabajadores administrativos de la empresa”.

“La negociación colectiva es una herramienta o instrumento que nos permite a los trabajadores sentarnos en la mesa con la empresa y discutir mejores condiciones de trabajo, pero además una mejor calidad de vida para todos los trabajadores. Uno de los grandes logros de esta directiva, ha sido el que se lleven a cabo todos los acuerdos establecidos en este convenio”, concluyó.

El pacto tendrá una vigencia de 3 años contados a partir de la firma del mismo y reconoce, entre otros beneficios, un pago compensatorio retroactivo a todos los trabajadores, aumento Salarial de un 17.35 % más la diferencia por inflación anual y el aumento del bono de producción mensual, medidas que impactan la calidad de vida de los trabajadores.

Además, los obreros recibirán un incremento de 50% en gastos educativos propios y de sus dependientes y 100% en el aporte de estudios universitarios.

Así mismo, un incremento en el bono escolar para gastos educativos anualmente de RD$ 10,500 pesos, aumento en el pago de la prima para los trabadores que

realizan turnos rotativos, incremento en el pago de dieta para los empleados que realizan trabajos fuera de la empresa y aumento en el pago del bono para el disfrute de las vacaciones anual.

El documento de prensa indica que las partes acordaron un aumento significativo para el aporte del plan de viviendas a los trabajadores de 900 mil pesos dominicanos.

Al acto protocolar de la firma de acuerdo se dieron cita además ejecutivos de la Falconbridge Dominicana S.A., representantes del Sindicato Unido de Trabajadores de Falconbridge, representantes de la Confederación Nacional de Unidad Sindical (CNUS), así como otros viceministros y directivos del Ministerio de Trabajo.
