El presidente Luis Abinader extendió el toque de queda, con el mismo horario, hasta el domingo 30 de mayo.

La disposición está contenida en el decreto 319-21, en el que se establece la vigencia de las medidas dispuestas en el anterior decreto, 133-21, que estableció el horario de toque de queda.

“El artículo 1, de este decreto, explica que se mantienen vigentes todas las medidas dispuestas en el decreto 133-21, del 1 de marzo de 2021, y sus modificaciones, a partir del lunes 17 de mayo y hasta el domingo 30 de mayo del año en curso”, señala un comunicado de prensa de la Presidencia de la República, emitido esta tarde.

En uno de sus considerandos, el decreto explica que en virtud de la evolución epidemiológica de la Covid-19 en el país es necesario mantener las medidas de distanciamiento social adoptadas por el Poder Ejecutivo, a la vez que estas se van revisando constantemente para procurar una reapertura económica y social gradual y segura.

A mediodía de hoy, el ministro de Salud Pública dijo que esa institución recomendaba mantener el toque de queda en el país para mantener la vigilancia por el nuevo coronavirus.

El ministro Daniel Rivera, quien habló al recibir un cargamento de 187,000 vacunas de Astrazeneca, dijo que creía que se debía continuar con las medidas de distanciamiento social y que eso es lo que han sugerido desde el ministerio que dirige.

Dijo que el país debía mantenerse firme y vigilante ante el virus. “Este es un virus que hay que respetarlo”, dijo Rivera a periodistas desde la rampa del Aeropuerto Internacional de las Américas, esta tarde.

El presidente dominicano había emitido el decreto 253-21 con el que estableció el toque de queda en el territorio nacional de lunes a viernes desde las 10:00 p.m y hasta las 5:00 a.m y los sábados y domingos desde las 9:00 p.m hasta las 5:00 a.m.

«Del mismo modo, explica también que se dispondrá de una gracia de libre circulación hasta las 12:00 a.m todos los días, con el único propósito de que las personas puedan dirigirse a sus respectivas residencias», señaló aquella vez el decreto.
