La Academia Mundial de Bomberos de los Estados Unidos iniciará un programa de formación y capacitación a favor de los miembros de los Cuerpos de Bomberos de la República Dominicana.

A los fines de ponerlos a la altura de otras naciones desarrolladas, a fin de que los mismos puedan ofrecer un mejor servicio a la población.

 

Según TTE. General Juan Gutierrez, Dir. Ejecutivo WWFA, Para tales fines, técnicos de los Estados Unidos vendrán al país para impartir los entrenamientos especiales y bomberos de la República Dominicana irán a la sede de la academia en Nueva York para participar en otros cursos y programas de capacitación.

La iniciativa forma parte del acuerdo suscrito por los directivos de dicha academia, con el Ministro de Interior y Policía, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, quien afirmó que este paso se enmarca dentro de los planes de la institución por dignificar y mejorar las condiciones de nuestros bomberos, los cuales ofrecen un servicio de primer orden a la sociedad, pero que históricamente nunca habían sido tomados en cuentas.

El acuerdo incluye también la construcción de un moderno edificio en la comunidad El Puñal, de Santiago, que alojará en su primer nivel el cuartel de la Policía Nacional y en el segundo nivel el Instituto de Formación de los Bomberos de la Región.

En la reunión también participaron los viceministros de Interior y Policía Ángela Jáquez y Fernando Nolberto, así como el general de brigada Sixto Rafael Sánchez Mateo, supervisor de los cuerpos de bomberos de la República Dominicana.
