Interior y Policía, Cultura y ADN lanzan convocatoria para el concurso “Arte por la Paz”

El ganador será el responsable de erigir un monumento con los restos de las armas destruidas el pasado 20 de agosto por el Ministerio de Interior y Policía*

Santo Domingo. – En el marco del Programa de Entrega Voluntaria de Armas de Fuego, el Ministerio de Cultura, el Ministerio de Interior y Policía, el Ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional y el Proyecto Artístico Transitando lanzaron la convocatoria de la primera edición del concurso “Arte por la Paz”, cuyo ganador será el responsable de erigir un monumento a la paz y la concordia con los restos de las armas que fueron destruidas en el operativo realizado el pasado 20 de agosto.

El concurso cuenta con el respaldo del Sistema de las Naciones Unidas y su iniciativa Arte 2030, y se enmarca dentro de la Estrategia Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana «Mi País Seguro», puesta en marcha por el gobierno, contando con la experiencia piloto en el barrio Cristo Rey.

El anuncio del concurso realizado en el salón de eventos del Ministerio de Interior y Policía, estuvo encabezado por Jesús Vásquez Martínez, ministro de Interior y Policía; Carmen Heredia de Guerrero, ministra de Cultura; Víctor Castro, viceministro de Armas y Dángela Ramírez, directora ejecutiva del concurso.

Al dirigirse a los presentes, la ministra Carmen Heredia manifestó que para el Ministerio de Cultura es un honor poder colaborar con el Ministerio de Interior y Policía, La Organización de la Naciones Unidas (ONU) a través de la UNESCO y la Alcaldía del Distrito Nacional en esta maravillosa iniciativa.

“Invito a todos nuestros artistas a participar en este hermoso proyecto, destinado a convertir lo que un día fueron armas en una escultural expresión artística, pues como dijo nuestro gran intelectual Pedro Henríquez Ureña, ‘solo la cultura salva a los pueblos’”, señaló la funcionaria.

Por su parte, el ministro de Interior y Policía, Jesús Vásquez Martínez, destacó que esta iniciativa constituye un importante avance en el esfuerzo del ministerio por reducir los hechos delictivos que se cometen en el país con armas de fuego.

“Desde nuestra llegada a la institución nos trazamos como meta hacerle frente al uso ilegal de las armas de fuego y hoy, fruto de los logros alcanzados por la Estrategia Nacional Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana ‘Mi país seguro’, tenemos un antes y un después”, expresó el titular de Interior y Policía.

 

Dángela Ramírez, directora ejecutiva del certamen, al ofrecer los pormenores de la iniciativa, afirmó que la misma está dirigida a artistas y creadores mayores de 18 años, quienes pueden presentar su obra de manera individual o colectiva.
Las bases del concurso establecen que “la propuesta ganadora deberá ser ejecutada por el artista o el colectivo que la presenta, aunque necesite soporte técnico de otros profesionales o especialistas para su realización. Junto a la propuesta se deberá presentar el presupuesto de materiales y mano de obra requerido para su ejecución”, indicó Ramírez.
Hay que recordar que el pasado 20 de agosto el Ministerio de Interior y Policía destruyó 803 armas de fuego, de las 1,751 entregadas por la población, en el marco de la Estrategia Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana “Mi País Seguro”.

*Sobre el premio*
La persona o colectivo ganador recibirá un pergamino oficial y un premio en metálico de RD$ 150,000.00 (ciento cincuenta mil pesos). Asimismo, el artista individual o uno de los integrantes de la propuesta colectiva ganadora disfrutará de un viaje de una semana de duración a un destino internacional emblemático del arte y la cultura, con los gastos de boleto aéreo, hospedaje, alimentación, seguro médico y transporte interno cubiertos, con el objetivo de gozar de una experiencia de aprendizaje intercultural.
Las propuestas deberán entregarse, bien de manera presencial en la sede del Ministerio de Interior y Policía o bien a través de un correo electrónico enviado a la dirección arteporlapazRD@mip.gob.do. El plazo de presentación de las mismas, en ambos casos, será de un mes a partir de la publicación de las bases del concurso en los diferentes portales web de las instituciones colaboradoras, a las 4:00 p. m. (hora local).
*Sobre el jurado*
El Comité Evaluador estará conformado por un representante del Ministerio de Interior y Policía, del Ministerio de Cultura, del Ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional y de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas en la República Dominicana.
Asimismo, el panel de los jueces estará integrado por personalidades de la vida cultural nacional, entre los que figuran el gestor cultural Freddy Ginebra, el arquitecto Gamal Michelén, el escritor y curador de arte Luis Graham y la artista plástica Iris Pérez.
