Gobierno Dominicano inicia desde esta semana Plan de Seguridad

El presidente Luis Abinader presentó ayer la primera fase de la Estrategia Integral de Seguridad Ciudadana en la que se establece una serie de acciones que tienen como objetivo bajar los índices de violencia en el país.

Colocar una denuncia en el lugar de los hechos mediante una aplicación móvil, desarmar a la población, identificar a los motoristas, capacitar a la Policía para garantizar un mejor manejo con la ciudadanía; más atención a casos de violencia de género e intrafamiliar, son algunas de las estrategias que forman parte del ambicioso plan de Gobierno.

El plan que inicia este mes y está contemplado hasta marzo del año próximo, se hará una inversión inicial de RD$296 millones, de los cuales 246 estarán destinados a la lucha de violencia de género e intrafamiliar y 40 a capacitación policial.

Desarme a la población

El presidente anunció un plan de desarme de la población a partir del 6 de abril próximo, con un programa de recompras de armas ilegales en manos civiles, para reducir las muertes y la violencia.

Abinader hizo un llamado a la población a apoyar este plan de desarme. “Como podemos ver, el Plan Nacional de Seguridad, del que hoy les voy a dar cuenta de algunas medidas, no trata sólo de prevenir la criminalidad o aplicar medios represivos contra los delincuentes. También incluye garantías para el acceso a un sistema de justicia eficaz, imparcial e independiente. Y por supuesto, busca moderni­zar los procedimientos e integrar a los actores correspon­dientes en la lucha contra los delitos”.

Seguridad Vial

El presidente informó el inicio del reforzamiento del Departamento de Ordenamiento de Carreteras de la Dirección General Seguridad de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (Digesett) desde el próximo domingo, coincidiendo con la Semana Santa.

A partir de ahí pondrán en funcionamiento 60 motocicletas y 243 camionetas en las principales arterias de circulación del país. Además, para reducir accidentes de tránsito en los puntos más críticos, los agentes de la Digesett, estarán equipados con radares para controlar las velocidades de circulación y contarán con un sistema de comunicación (Radio de Comunicación y Flotas) y una aplicación tecnológica para depurar y fiscalizar a los infractores de la Ley 63-17.

Los motoristas.

Desde el primero de junio todos los motoristas del país serán identificados con chalecos con un número individual. “Con ello pretendemos reducir el número de quienes usan los motores sin licencia, y de las actividades delictivas que en muchos casos van asociadas a su uso”, explicó.

Cultura policial.

El presidente Abinader informó también que se implementará un nuevo modelo de cultura policial basada en la ética profesional, la atención efectiva y el buen trato y comportamiento de los agentes que genere un clima de confianza con los ciudadanos.
