La tormenta Fiona tiene una trayectoria de inminente impacto sobre República Dominicana, por lo que los organismos de socorro y distintas entidades tienen activados los plantes de emergencia, para evacuaciones, asistencia y, sobre todo, salvar vida.

Pero, de manera individual, ¿está su familia preparada con lo esencial para este tipo de eventos, con agua potable, medicamentos, linternas, alimentos enlatados y cobija?

 

Se recuerda que en cada casa debe estar preparado un plan familiar, donde sus integrantes sepa que hacer.

 

El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE) define el «plan de emergencia familiar» como la organización de acciones y actividades que los miembros de una familia planean y realizan previendo una emergencia o un desastre, en la que cada persona debe saber claramente el rol que le toca ante una situación de emergencia.

Para ese plan es importante conocer las condiciones en las que está construida la vivienda, las amenazas de ciclones, terremotos, tsunamis y los posibles riesgos.

 

Igual el COE recomienda identificar los albergues más cercanos a su vivienda; la ruta de evacuación; conocer cuáles son los puntos seguros de la comunidad y si hay una red comunitaria u organismo de respuesta en la comunidad.

 

Señalizar los desagües sin tapas y sujetar artículos que se desprenden con la brisa.

 

Se recomienda elaborar un mapa o croquis sencillo de la casa y sus alrededores, señala los lugares más riesgosos y haz un plan de mejora. Igual señalizar los desagües sin tapa, roturas o desniveles en el piso, muros inestables, rejas, cables eléctricos macetas y otros que pudieran provocar daños.

 

Es importante también, sujetar los estantes y artículos que puedan desplomarse con la brisa, igual que para los sismos.
