Contraloría General de la República presenta Unidad Antifraude

El Contralor General de la República, Catalino (Freddy) Correa Hiciano presentó la recién creada Unidad Antifraude, que se encargará de realizar investigaciones especializadas a instituciones estatales que sean objeto de señalamientos por conductas enmarcadas como actos de corrupción, prácticas irregulares o erradas, que surjan tanto de denuncias directas como de resultados de auditorías ordinarias o especiales y de oficio.

Durante la presentación del equipo que la conformará, el Contralor les exhortó a apegarse a la ética como estandarte y a apoyar al presidente de la República, Luis Abinader, en su causa de tener un país con instituciones más robustas y transparentes.
«Estas investigaciones permitirán obtener informaciones certeras y oportunas sobre los hallazgos de situaciones irregulares y posibles indicios de delitos penales en contra de la administración pública, que es lo que la sociedad está demandando», dijo Correa. »

Agregó que la Unidad Antifraude no solo pretende eliminar con sus labores la tasa de corrupción institucional del país, sino que también procurará transformar la cultura del servicio que ofrece la administración pública.
«En República Dominicana hace muchos habla de la corrupción, de la impunidad. En ese sentido, el presidente ha creado esta unidad que tiene un rol fundamental y es identificar porqué la gente dice que hay corrupción. Entonces, es detectar esas anomalías, actuar y cumplir el papel que el Presidente quiere de la Contraloría. Si nosotros no hacemos nada seremos un grupo más del montón», enfatizó el funcionario.

Esta dependencia de la CGR es dirigida por Leonidas Radhamés Peña, quien resaltó el trabajo que realizará en la unidad creada por disposición del presidente de la República, Luis Abinader.
«Reconozco el valor y la firmeza del señor Contralor para que esta unidad sea hoy una realidad. El equipo que me acompaña está dotado de capacidad, integridad, ética y transparencia al más alto nivel para realizar esta labor que nos han confiado. Hay una sociedad que espera mucho de nosotros, que está vigilante de cada paso que damos. Necesitamos demostrar lo que somos y poner en alto nuestra institución y nuestro país y al superior gobierno que nos ha dado la oportunidad de brindar los conocimientos adquiridos en donde hemos estado, tanto a nivel privado como público», expresó Peña.
En la actividad, realizada en el salón de reuniones de la Contraloría, participaron, además: Geraldo Espinosa, subcontralor general; César Caraballo, responsable del área de Auditoría; Cecilio Disla, director de Auditoría Interna; Anthony Pérez, director de Comunicaciones y el equipo de profesionales con perfil adecuado para ejecutar la tarea de la Unidad Antifraude.

La Unidad Antifraude
Este organismo contempla tres objetivos básicos, que son: primero, detectar, investigar y detener prácticas irregulares y/o fraudulentas en las instituciones gubernamentales; segundo, implementar estrategias preventivas y de seguimiento de alto impacto a nivel institucional, que permitan la colocación de buenas ejecutorias basadas en valores éticos que transformen de manera positiva la cultura de la administración pública y tercero, informar y orientar a las instituciones y a la ciudadanía en general sobre la existencia y el rol de la Unidad Antifraude.
