Artistas, Políticos y admiradores despiden a Pablo Milanés cantando sus temas

La capilla ardiente de Pablo Milanés recibió este miércoles un aluvión de visitantes en la Casa de América de Madrid, entre ellos el ministro español de Cultura, Miquel Iceta, o los artistas Ana Belén y Jorge Drexler, así como ciudadanos admiradores de su música que le despidieron cantando sus canciones.

Se escucharon temas como «Para vivir» y «Yolanda», entonados por alrededor de un centenar de personas -algunas sujetando una bandera de Cuba- con sentimiento, e incluso entre lágrimas, cuando cerró la capilla ardiente.

 

«Soy exiliada política y tengo 46 años. Mis padres escuchaban a Pablo (Milanés) y a Silvio (Rodríguez), y les amamos. También respeto a Pablo por su posición de crítica, por apoyar una renovación. Además de ser un gran músico, ha sido un tipo fiel a su sentimiento, lo respeto como ser humano, como cubano y como cantante», explicó a EFE una de las congregadas, que no quiso dar su nombre.

En las cinco horas que estuvo abierta la capilla ardiente del artista cubano, fallecido este martes en Madrid, donde recibía tratamiento por un cáncer, pasaron por el lugar numerosos rostros conocidos.

 

«Estoy aquí para prestarle mi respeto a un gran maestro de la canción en español. El mejor cantante que conocí en persona. Una persona que entre otras cosas gracias la cual yo pude quedarme a vivir en España», explicó a los medios el cantautor uruguayo Jorge Drexler, quien debe al músico cubano la oportunidad de haberse mudado a España en 1995.

 

«La primera canción que me grabaron aquí fue una canción de Pablo y de Víctor Manuel que se llamaba «Dos colores, blanco y negro». Fue un momento crucial en mi vida», añadió el músico.

 

Asimismo, Drexler recordó el día en que conoció por primera vez a Milanés, en casa de Joaquín Sabina: «No saben lo que es escuchar a Pablo cantar en una habitación. Es una experiencia maravillosa» apuntó.

 

Y afirmó que «es un día muy triste» para los que se dedican a cantar y escribir canciones en español ya que su voz era «un sonido que lo acompaña a uno para siempre».

 

El ministro español de Cultura, Miquel Iceta, expresó también sus condolencias y resaltó que era «una persona que marcó muchos años la música y la cultura cubana con una gran relación con los países de América Latina y con España».

 

«Perdemos una pieza muy importante (…). Nos hemos emocionado con sus canciones reivindicativas y también con sus canciones mas románticas. Es un hombre que trabajó en el son cubano y lo trasladó al mundo», añadió el ministro.

 

El argentino Fito Páez, las españolas Massiel y Ana Belén o el cubano y compañero en la nueva trova Silvio Rodríguez acudieron asimismo a despedirse de Milanés, cuya familia agradeció el apoyo recibido y adelantó su intención de enterrarlo en España.

 

«Hemos perdido a uno de los más grandes artistas de siglo XX y también del XXI. Lo más importante es que ha dejado un legado impresionante de calidad y de belleza en el cual todos deberíamos ir a respirar un poco en estos tiempos tan aciagos», declaró el cantante Fito Páez en representación de la familia, junto al cuñado de Milanés, el actor español Federico Pérez Rey.

Preguntado por los periodistas, Pérez Rey aseguró que el cantautor cubano «será enterrado aquí, en una estricta intimidad, y lo que suceda posteriormente ya lo veremos», sin dar información sobre el lugar del sepelio ni sobre si Milanés prefería descansar en España o Cuba.

 

El productor discográfico del cantante de la trova, Dagoberto González, reveló que Milanés preparaba un álbum repleto de colaboraciones con artistas como el español Alejandro Sanz, que supondría la tercera entrega de la trilogía compuesta por los discos «Querido Pablo» (1985) y «Pablo Querido» (2002).

Al duelo se unieron artistas como Massiel, quien entre lágrimas lo recordó como «una bolita de amor y sensibilidad», las actrices Pastora Vega y María Isabel Lago, el cantautor Caco Senante, la musicógrafa Rosa Marquetti y actores como Juan Echanove.
