Arrestan dos dominicanos e interceptan lancha con 481 paquetes de presunta cocaína en Barahona

La Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD), la Armada de República Dominicana, la Fuerza Aérea y agencias de inteligencia del Estado, confiscaron otros 481 paquetes presumiblemente cocaína en las costas de la provincia de Barahona.

De acuerdo a una nota de prensa, tras avistar una lancha rápida, (tipo Go Fast), las autoridades montaron “un operativo de vigilancia y seguimiento en todo el litoral costero de esa provincia, disponiendo de unidades aéreas y marítimas para interceptar y capturar a los ocupantes de la embarcación, que habría llegado al país procedente de Sudamérica”.

 

Las autoridades interceptaron una lancha de unos 23 pies de eslora, a varias millas náuticas al Este de las costas del municipio de Paraíso, donde arrestaron a dos hombres, de nacionalidad dominicana y ocuparon 16 sacos conteniendo los 481 paquetes de la sustancia.

Aunque la DNCD no informó los nombres de los detenidos, los mismos están siendo puestos a disposición del Ministerio Público de la provincia de Barahona.

 

“En el operativo conjunto se logró ocupar además, un motor fuera de borda de 75 caballos de fuerza, 10 garrafones de combustibles, una lona, agua comestibles, entre otras evidencias”, informó la DNCD.

 

En lo que va de este año 2022, las autoridades dominicanas, han atrapado 19, 049 kilogramos (19 toneladas) de distintas drogas, la mayoría de los narcóticos confiscados, más del 90 por ciento, corresponde a cocaína.

Los 481 paquetes están siendo enviados bajo cadena de custodia al Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Forenses (INACIF) que determinará en su análisis el tipo y peso exacto de la sustancia.
