Los notables daños producidos a la salud durante el proceso de reconstrucción del hospital Regional José María Cabral y Báez de Santiago, estarían generando en los próximos días una ola de apresamientos similar a las operaciones Antipulpo, Caracol, Coral y Operación 13.
Jhonny Cabrera, propietario de la empresa Julio Cabrera y Construcción, empresa beneficiada con la licitación que ganó otra entidad del área, figura entre los posibles investigados junto a Juan Alexis Medina (bajo prisión), hermano del ex presidente Danilo Medina y una decena de implicados.
A raíz de una inundación que rebosó el área de quirófano, el Dr. Luis Faringthon, presidente del Colegio Médico Dominicano (CMD) y Bernardo Antonio Hilario Reyes, director del hospital denunciaron que encontraron una serie de anomalías en la parte administrativa y en la reconstrucción que le fue entregada a Cabrera por privilegios de Alexis Medina (preso), hermano del entonces presidente Danilo Medina.
Tras la investigación Antipulpo, que mantiene en la cárcel de Najayo a Medina Sánchez, diversos sectores de Santiago y el Cibao, han clamando por sanciones respecto de las acciones delincuentnciales cometidas en el principal centro sanitario de la zona.
La empresa Dominical Supply Srl (de Alexis), asumió de forma sospechosa el amueblado de 53 hospitales, entre ellos el Cabral y Báez.
La reconstrucción estuvo bajo responsabilidad de la Oficina de Ingenieros Supervisores de Obras del Estado (Oisoe), cuyo incumbete a la sazón, ingeniero Francisco Pagán, el exministro de salud Freddy Hidalgo y algunos funcionarios cercanos, están bajo prisión, sin embargo, se espera sanciones similares sobre la empresa que se presume actuaba en contuvernio del imputado Alexis Medina y Johnny Cabrera.
