Las autoridades no han ofrecido nuevos detalles sobre el proceso de investigación de la misteriosa desaparición de los esposos Luis Miguel Jáquez Rodríguez, de 32 años, y Elizabeth Almarante Pacheco, de 24, ocurrida el martes 24 de enero en el distrito municipal La Guáyiga.

La Policía Nacional dijo que han interrogado a varias personas, levantan videos de cámaras de seguridad del entorno y realizan distintos procedimientos para esclarecer el caso, sin que puedan revelar detalles para no entorpecer las indagatorias.

Extraoficialmente se ha dicho que en la vivienda los investigadores policiales encontraron más RD$193,000 en efectivo y 12 plásticos de tarjetas de crédito, entre otras evidencias.

Este viernes el hogar de los conyugues, ubicado en el sector El Progreso, permanece cerrado y los vecinos se mantienen en silencio respecto al tema, al igual que familiares de Luis Miguel, quienes al ser abordados por periodistas dijeron no saber nada más de lo que se ha dicho hasta ahora del suceso.

Este jueves Miguelina Rodríguez, madre de Luis Miguel, dijo que desde el lunes no sabe del paradero de su hijo y su nuera y que el martes sus nietos, hijos de este, de 6 y 3 años, estaban solos en la casa y sin saber dónde estaban su padre y su madrastra, por lo que un amigo los recogió y posteriormente los llevó a su casa, donde se encuentran actualmente.

Afirmó que desde entonces han intentado insistentemente contactarlos, pero las llamadas que hacen a sus teléfonos celulares son enviadas al buzón de mensajes.

Presumió que podría tratarse de un robo perpetrado por alguien que conocía a los esposos, lo cual explicaría que se los llevaron, y dice que de la casa faltan dos televisores, prendas y otros objetos y no hay señal de entrada forzada.

Dijo que su hijo no tenía problemas con nadie, que fuera de su conocimiento.
