En la Autopista Samaná, fue interceptado un autobús matrícula 1052404, que era conducido por el señor José Manuel Rosario Santana, con 25 haitianos con estatus migratorio irregular, el conductor también fue detenido.
En tanto, el otro autobús, ficha F-369 de la compañía de transporte colectivo Caribe Tours, que era conducido por el señor Víctor Terrero, fue detenido en el chequeo de Las Matas de Santa Cruz, provincia Montecristi, con 12 pasajeros a bordo en condición irregular.
Al momento de ser inspeccionada la guagua en Monte Cristi, en su interior fueron interceptados los haitianos, quienes al ser requisados no portaban documentos legales que los acrediten como extranjeros en tránsito en el país, por lo que junto al chofer fueron trasladados a la fortaleza de la Cuarta Brigada de Infantería del Ejército, en Mao, Valverde.
A través de una nota de prensa, el titular de Migración, Venancio Alcántara, advirtió que las compañías de transportes serán sancionadas, al igual que a los conductores de los autobuses, conforme lo establece la ley 285-04 y las normas, por incurrir en delito de tráfico de indocumentados.
