La intensa humareda también ha afectado una parte del hotel Be Life Collection Marien, que se encuentra en las inmediaciones.

Unidades de bomberos de Puerto Plata, Sosúa y Montellanos se encuentran en el lugar intentando sofocar el siniestro, que se inició hace alrededor de una hora y han logrado controlarlo en un 60 por ciento.
La gobernadora provincial, Claritza Rochtte y la directora de Turismo, Stephany Kfouri, se encuentran en el lugar dando apoyo a los ejecutivos del hotel y las autoridades presentes.
El mismo hotel fue afectado hace unos años por otro incendio, en aquella ocasión el tejado, el cual está cubierto de cana.
