Monte Plata. -* El presidente Luis Abinader dejó inaugurada este domingo la carretera Chirino-Monte Plata construida con una inversión que supera los RD$400 millones y con una extensión de 13 kilómetros.
Con esta inauguración el presidente Abinader dio respuesta a más de 40 años de reclamo por los habitantes de toda la zona circundante.
Asimismo, inauguró la ampliación del acueducto de Monte Plata con una inversión de RD$250 millones y un Centro de Atención Integral a la Primera Infancia (CAIPI), con RD$64.9 millones.
Al pronunciar unas breves palabras, el mandatario manifestó que ningún gobierno ha invertido en Monte Plata en términos viales como este y destacó que con esta nueva carretera, lo que se hacía en 40 minutos se va a hacer en 20 minutos.
Entre otras obras para beneficio de esta demarcación, agregó que “en unos meses vamos a abrir una extensión de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), por lo tanto los jóvenes van a tener aquí un minibús para que puedan ir a la UASD y al Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) en noviembre, si se siguen todos los procesos para que los jóvenes puedan educarse a la más alta tecnología».
De su lado, el ministro de Obras Públicas, Deligne Ascensión, al referirse a la carretera Chirino-Monte Plata, expresó que “ese anhelo desesperado de la población por tener una ruta de conexión adecuada, se fundamenta en el impacto que tiene para el desarrollo de la producción local de cientos de agricultores de cacao, palma africana, víveres diversos, chinola y de los productores que poseen una vasta ganadería de leche y carne, así como de una enorme cantidad de comerciantes”.
Precisó que algunos parajes de Chirino estaban incomunicados con los lugares más productivos de la zona por lo que no podían trasladar sus productos a Monte Plata, la Capital y las regiones del Nordeste y Este del país.
Esta vía es además parte de los proyectos de rehabilitación de las rutas de transporte de la producción agrícola regional.
“Nuestro plan de conectividad regional avanza de manera indetenible en toda esta productiva y extensa llanura, transformando la calidad de vida a más de 240 mil habitantes de la provincia y mejorando la productividad y el acceso a los grandes mercados para miles de productores agrícolas, agroindustriales, ganaderos, comerciantes y gente humilde y de bien en toda la región”, puntualizó Ascención.

El padre Julián De la Cruz, al bendecir el acto, felicitó al mandatario por cumplir el reclamo que durante años han realizado los residentes de Chirino.
“Me siento contento y orgulloso porque ahora Chirino no es una finca como yo la veía antes, no es un monte, ya es un pueblo, ya es un distrito municipal y eso me llena de alegría y entusiasmo. Señor Presidente recuerdo cuando estábamos en la reunión de los sacerdotes en Santo Domingo Este, usted prometió un cambio y el cambio se va sintiendo».
En nombre de la comunidad habló la joven Noemi Rudecindo: “el pueblo de Chirino está más que agradecido, primero con Dios por escuchar sus plegarias para ver llegar el desarrollo a esta comunidad y la construcción de esta carretera sin lugar a dudas es el comienzo, agradecida de que el señor presidente Luis Abinader en su excelente gestión pagará la deuda que acumularon los anteriores gobiernos por más de 40 años con este pueblo, haciéndose los sordos y los ciegos ante las luchas sociales».
La joven dijo sentirse honrada de “ser la portavoz de la mujer, de la juventud y de todos los munícipes de Chirino para decirle gracias señor presidente, Chirino ya está cambiando».

Deligne Ascensión destacó que la gestión de gobierno del presidente Abinader, a través del MOPC desarrolla en esta provincia un conjunto de obras viales para mejorar su conectividad.
Entre esas refirió las carreteras Guerra-Bayaguana, Sabana Grande de Boyá-Batey Verde-Autopista Juan Pablo II; Hacienda Estrella-Monte Plata, y Bayaguana-El Puerto.
También, el camino La Ceiba-Cruce de La Ceiba-Chirino; la conexión de la Autopista Juan Pablo II con el municipio de Bayaguana; los caminos vecinales El Dean-Don Juan; La Dole-Batey Los Lanos; Dajao-Platanal con puente sobre el río Yabi, así como varios puentes en Peralvillo, La Gina, Arroyo Naranjo, Yamasá y otras localidades que han sido recientemente licitados y adjudicados.
