Santo Domingo.-El presidente Luis Abinader entregó este martes la bandera nacional a la delegación dominicana que participarán en los XXlV juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe, San Salvador 2023, a celebrarse del 23 de junio al 8 de julio en San Salvador y que tendrá como subsede a República Dominicana.
En un acto, realizado en el Salón de Embajadores del Palacio Nacional, el mandatario hizo entrega de la enseña tricolor.
Las palabras centrales del acto estuvieron a cargo del presiente del Comité Olímpico Dominicano, Garibaldy Bautista donde agradeció al presidente Luis Abinader por el apoyo al deporte dominicano y auguró la victoria en las competencias que los atletas participarán.
De su lado, el viceministro administrativo de Deporte, Franklin De la Mota, manifestó que gracias al apoyo del mandatario, esta es la delegación más grande de la República Dominicana que participará en los juegos de San Salvador 2023.
“Su gobierno siempre ha dicho que quiere que la juventud dominicana esté de lleno en el deporte, en la educación y este es el momento para ustedes jóvenes levantar la bandera dominicana con orgullo”, expresó De la Mota.
El grupo que viajará a El Salvador y actuará en el país está integrado por 680 personas, de las cuales 477 son atletas, quienes competirán en más de 30 disciplinas.
En estos juegos, el país será sede de siete deportes, los cuales son: taekwondo, ecuestre, ráquetbol, pentatlón moderno, hockey sobre césped, canotaje y tiro al plato.
De estos atletas hay 205 en el renglón femenino y 272 en el masculino. Un total de 393 viajarán a El Salvador, (173 mujeres y 221 hombres). En Santo Domingo habrá 84 deportistas (33 mujeres y 51 hombres).
Estuvieron presentes, los ministros, de la Presidencia, Joel Santos; administrativo de la Presidencia,José Ignacio Paliza y el secretario general del COD, Luis Chanlatti.
