_También niega exista agenda sobre reasignación de sexo o géneros diversos, eliminación de la patria potestad de padres y madres sobre la educación de sus hijos e hijas, la pedofilia o la pederastia._

 

El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores comunica a la opinión pública nacional, que las informaciones que han estado circulando sobre la participación del país en la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) son falsas.

 

Negamos categóricamente, que en el marco de las negociaciones de cara a la Asamblea General de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), a celebrarse la próxima semana en Perú, se esté impulsando alguna iniciativa o planteamiento desde la República Dominicana asociado al aborto.

 

Tampoco se está impulsando la reasignación de sexo o sobre géneros diversos, la eliminación de la patria potestad de padres y madres sobre la educación de sus hijos e hijas, la pedofilia o la pederastia.

 

Para que no haya dudas sobre nuestra posición, informamos que las iniciativas impulsadas por República Dominicana en el marco de la Asamblea General de la OEA están relacionadas a: la situación en Haití, la libertad de expresión y periodismo, así como el gobierno digital abierto y transparente.

 

De igual forma, el fortalecimiento de la democracia, los derechos de las personas con discapacidad y adultos mayores, la Red Interamericana de Catastro (que lidera nuestro Poder Judicial), la protección del medioambiente y las implicaciones jurídicas sobre la soberanía territorial causadas por el aumento del nivel del mar debido al calentamiento de los océanos.

 

A la fecha no se ha realizado ninguna votación sobre los documentos sujetos a negociación, pues todavía está en curso un proceso de consultas entre los Estados miembros de la OEA en relación a todos los temas de la agenda.

 

Es importante, además, hacer de conocimiento público que las resoluciones que se adoptan en foros multilaterales, como el de la OEA, no están por encima de la Constitución o legislación de los Estados y por tanto no son obligatorias.

 

En consecuencia, los países mantienen su soberanía para adoptar las políticas y normas que consideren apropiadas para garantizar los derechos de su población.
