_Anuncian una inversión de más de mil millones de dólares en los próximos dos años._

Las cadenas de hoteles españolas en República Dominicana, agrupadas en Inverotel, afirmaron que el país cuenta con los mejores presidente y ministro de turismo y anunciaron una inversión de mil millones de dólares para los próximos dos años.

El empresario Miguel Fluxá, presidente de Iberostar, destacó el trabajo que realizan el presidente Luis Abinader y el ministro David Collado para fortalecer el desarrollo del turismo y lograr que República Dominicana fuera el primer país del mundo en lograr la recuperación del sector.

INVEROTEL reconoció este jueves la labor del gabinete de turismo dominicano en la recuperación del turismo y en los logros récord que ha tenido el sector en el año 2022, durante un evento celebrado en Santo Domingo al que asistieron el Presidente de la Abinader y el Ministro Collado.

El evento, en el que se dieron cita otras autoridades y empresarios turísticos y de otros sectores de la economía nacional, tuvo lugar en el marco de un encuentro de trabajo que, por segundo año consecutivo, han sostenido varios de los miembros de Inverotel con el Presidente Abinader y el Ministro Collado.

 

Fue clausurado con un almuerzo privado ofrecido por el primer mandatario en la Ciudad Colonial. En él, participaron los miembros de Inverotel Carmen Ríu, Miguel Fluxá, Encarna Piñero, André Girandeau, Javier Luque y Juan Fierro, y se repasó la agenda de temas en los que se viene trabajando desde la investidura del actual gobernante con el objetivo de mejorar el desempeño del turismo como motor económico del país.

 

Encarna Piñero, presidenta de Inverotel y Gerente General de Grupo Piñero, afirmó en su intervención en el acto que la República Dominicana tiene razones para celebrar, por los resultados que está obteniendo el sector turístico en términos de llegada de visitantes, que podrían llegar a los 7.2 millones a final de este 2022. ”Y creo que también tenemos motivos para felicitarnos. Sí, felicitarnos, porque estos resultados demuestran que cuando autoridades y empresas sumamos esfuerzos, trabajamos juntos, cada quien desde su responsabilidad, podemos lograr lo que nos proponemos”.

República Dominicana viene marcando récords en la llegada de turistas mes tras mes en este año y se estima que cerrará el año superando la barrera de los siete millones de visitantes. Gran parte de ellos se habrán alojado en los hoteles que tienen en el país 16 de las 17 empresas que forman parte de Inverotel y que, en total representan el 45% de la disponibilidad de habitaciones hoteleres con las que cuenta la República Dominicana.

 

“Nuestra inversión siempre ha representado un compromiso fuerte con un país en el que creímos, creemos y en el que seguiremos creyendo. Porque quienes formamos parte de Inverotel hemos generado una conexión emocional especial con República Dominicana. Pero también porque encontramos, y nos da, razones para ello”, dijo Encarna Piñero.

 

La presidenta de Inverotel tuvo palabras de agradecimiento para quienes forman parte del Gabinete de Turismo, liderado por el Presidente Abinader y dirigido por el Ministro Collado, “por el trabajo de récord que han realizado para posicionar al país como destino y las facilidades que han promovido para permitir la llegada de visitantes”. En ese punto destacó dos acciones concretas. Por un lado, la proactividad del Ministro en sus salidas a los mercados emisores de turistas para promover el país. “El otro es un factor único en el mundo, porque Republica Dominicana es el único país que cuenta con un comité de mercadeo público-privado que ha permitido ser más eficientes y acertados con el uso de los recursos para el posicionamiento del destino”.

 

Acercándose al final de su intervención, Encarna Piñero aseguró que la visión, las ganas, la ilusión y el compromiso de las empresas que conforman Inverotel con la República Dominicana, lejos de mantenerse, se acrecientan. “Les estamos agregando más inversión, alrededor de US$1,000 millones, en forma de innovación, sostenibilidad y, sobre todo, en nuestra gente, en nuestro capital humano, y en las comunidades de nuestros entornos”. Y recordó que los aportes también se producen de otra forma “cuando los momentos difíciles nos aprietan. El ejemplo más reciente nos lo ofrece el paso de Fiona, donde, tras su impacto, nos remangamos y nos pusimos a trabajar, humana y económicamente, para reparar los daños y asistir a los más afectados”. Las empresas de Inverotel aportaron algo más de US$900 millones en ayudas.

 

La presidenta de Inverotel insistió en la necesidad de que continúe el trabajo unido entre autoridades y sector privado. “Vivimos el gran momento de la historia del turismo dominicano y queremos que perdure, que prospere y que crezca. Para ello tenemos que tener un gran sentido de la anticipación, y seguir siendo creativos, relevantes, proactivos, laboriosos y, sobre todo, competitivos, con todo lo que ser competitivos exige. Pero sobre todo, debemos seguir trabajando juntos, gobierno y empresas, para que los desafíos que amenazan con frenarnos dejen paso a las virtudes que nos ayudan a superarnos. Estamos seguros de que, con buena voluntad y criterio estratégico adecuado, encontraremos los ingredientes clave para incluir en la fórmula de la colaboración y seguir marcando récords”.

El evento, que contó con palabras del Ministro de Turismo, David Collado, y que fue clausurado con la interveción del Presidente Abinader, había comenzado con la participación de Ramón Roselló, Vicepresidente Ejecutivo de Inverotel. Lo acompañó en el escenario durante unos minutos uno de los pioneros del sector hotelero español en el país, don Miguel Fluxá, presidente de Iberostar.
