SANTO DOMINGO.- El Ministerio de Interior y Policía (MIP) inició el programa de formación de 33 jóvenes que aspiran a formar parte de la Policía Auxiliar en el sector de Cristo Rey, donde se inició el plan piloto de la Estrategia Nacional de Seguridad Ciudadana “Mi País Seguro”.
El acto fue encabezado por el ministro Jesús Vásquez Martínez, quien aseguró que tiene como meta logra hacer de la Policía Auxiliar un modelo, que esté empoderada, que ayude al ciudadano y al cumplimiento del deber.
Explicó que los jóvenes serán entrenados en defensa personal, primeros auxilios, manejo de conflictos, adecuado manejo de la comunicación, entre otras áreas.
“La intención que nosotros tenemos para el año que viene es potencializar aún más la Policía Auxiliar en los principales municipios de país”, precisó.
Anunció que para el año próximo se contempla un aumento al salario de los policías y un incremento a la ayuda que reciben los agentes auxiliares.
“La estrategia de Seguridad Ciudadana que nosotros estamos implementando y que escogimos como plan piloto a Cristo Rey, aspiramos que en cada lugar donde nosotros vamos a intervenir, podamos formar una policía auxiliar para que pueda realizar los trabajos en los espacios públicos, pero sobre todo, una policía auxiliar que pudiese mañana, si fuera de su interés, ingresar a la Policía Nacional”, sostuvo.
El funcionario estuvo acompañado de la viceministra de Seguridad Preventiva en Gobiernos Provinciales, Ángela Jáquez y el Director de la Policía Auxiliar, Ramón Emilio Ramírez.
La viceministra Jáquez destacó la labor que realizan estos agentes en sus comunidades y consideró que serán un gran apoyo en materia preventiva.
Les motivó a continuar capacitándose y les garantizó que contarán con el apoyo del Ministerio de Interior y Policía, así como, de la Presidencia de la República.
En la actividad se les entregó además, cartas de encomio a 12 policías auxiliares de diferentes localidades de país, en reconocimiento de la labor destacada que vienen realizando en sus municipios.
