Portugal apoya solicitud del presidente Abinader para que dominicanos puedan viajar a Europa sin necesidad de visado Schengen.

_Presidentes de RD y Portugal dieron los primeros pasos para la firmas de varios acuerdos que permitirán aumento en la cooperación bilateral entre ambas naciones._

*Santo Domingo.-* El presidente de Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa, manifestó su apoyo a la propuesta hecha por República Dominicana a la Unión Europea sobre la eliminación del visado Schengen, a fin de que los dominicanos puedan viajar a Europa sin en ese requerimiento.

El planteamiento fue hecho por el presidente Abinader durante las conversaciones de las comisiones de trabajo de los dos gobiernos, en el marco de la visita hoy a Palacio de Rebelo De Sousa y su comitiva.

“Estamos haciendo la solicitud a la Unión Europea, y en esto contamos con el apoyo del presidente Rebelo para eliminar el requerimiento de esa visa y que los dominicanos puedan viajar a Europa sin en ese requerimiento”, dijo el presidente Abinader.

El mandatario agradeció al presidente Rebelo por tener la apertura en esta propuesta de la República Dominicana y al mismo tiempo, valoró el apoyo a la soberanía del país y la política migratoria y respaldó la decisión de Portugal de continuar en la Organización Internacional de Migración.

Abinader habló en estos términos al encabezar junto a Rebelo De Sousa la firma de un Acuerdo Marco de Cooperación y un Memorando de Entendimiento para la promoción de la cooperación bilateral y apoyo en las áreas de la ciencia, tecnología y la educación superior de ambos países.

El jefe de Estado dominicano destacó que cuando el país asumió la presidencia Pro Tempore de la Cumbre Iberoamericana, en Andorra, conoció al presidente de Portugal Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa en uno de los momentos más difíciles de la pandemia de la Covid-19 donde sostuvo una reunión bilateral y tuvieron una empatía especial.

Dijo que en Andorra conversaron sobre temas que eran de gran importancia para ambos países.

“Ahí estamos hablando de un área donde ha avanzado bastante la República de Portugal que está en la vanguardia que es sobre todo el aspecto digital y de innovación, ellos tienen un proyecto similar obviamente primero llamado Simples para eliminar todo lo que tiene que ver con los tiempos en los procesos de permiso de gobierno similar al programa Burocracia Cero implementado en la República Dominicana”, explicó.

El presidente Abinader, también informó que, abordaron el tema de las energías renovables, ya que Portugal tiene un 60% y en el 2030 un 80%, tras indicar que son los líderes en energía eólica.

El gobernante resaltó la gran experiencia que tienen los portugueses en el tema de los océanos, educación superior, logística de muelles y en el sector vinícola y valoró la cantidad de turista provenientes de Portugal que visitan el país y que el año pasado fue de 60,000.

Resaltó que Rebelo De Sousa es un gran líder para su país y una voz muy escuchada a nivel europea, destacando su influencia a nivel mundial.

“El presidente Rebelo es un gran líder, una gran persona una voz respetada y repito no solo en Europa sino en todo el mundo por su defensa a la democracia, por su defensa a los derechos humanos, por su vanguardia en el desarrollo tecnológico y en el desarrollo económico y social”, sostuvo.

En tanto, el presidente de la República Portuguesa, Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa, manifestó que esta es la primera visita oficial de un presidente Portugués a República Dominicana y dijo que invitó al presidente Abinader a visitar su país en el mes de noviembre y que de materializarse, esta también sería la primera vez que un gobernante dominicano visita a Portugal.

El presidente de Portugal explicó que en esta visita conversó con su homólogo Abinader sobre revolución digital, energías renovables, de colaboración, de reforma de la administración pública, de cooperación económica, turística, portuaria, ciencia y tecnología.

Sostuvo que los acuerdos firmados en el día de hoy, permitirán rápidamente un aumento de la cooperación bilateral entre República Dominicana y Portugal.

Agradeció la invitación al país y por la Cumbre Iberoamerica que dijo, es muy importante para Latinoamérica y para la situación internacional.

Del mismo modo, agradeció esta cooperación bilateral profundizada en dominios como ciencia, tecnología, la economía, turismo, cooperación administrativa y diplomática, educación, innovación, que representa cambio de pueblos, economía y sociedad

*Santo Domingo. -* Los gobiernos de la República Dominicana y la República Portuguesa firmaron este jueves un Acuerdo Marco de Cooperación y un Memorando de Entendimiento para la promoción de la cooperación bilateral y apoyo en las áreas de la ciencia, tecnología y la educación superior.

El acto de firma estuvo encabezado por los presidentes de República Dominicana, Luis Abinader y de la República Portuguesa, Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa y se realizó en el Salón de Embajadores del Palacio Nacional.

El Acuerdo Marco de Cooperación entre la República Dominicana y la República Portuguesa, es un acuerdo trascendental que abre las puertas a una cooperación bilateral estructurada entre ambas naciones.

El objetivo de este acuerdo es la promoción de la cooperación técnica, económica, científica y cultural entre los dos países, a través de la construcción y ejecución de programas, proyectos y acciones específicas en áreas de interés común.

Esto, conforme a las prioridades establecidas en sus estrategias y políticas nacionales de desarrollo económico y social, promoviendo el intercambio de las mejores prácticas en cada una de las Partes.

En tanto que, el Memorando de Entendimiento entre el Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología de la República Portuguesa y el Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología de la República Dominicana, se llevó a cabo para promover el desarrollo de la cooperación entre ambos Estados en las áreas de la ciencia, la tecnología y la educación superior.

Las Partes alentarán actividades de cooperación para el establecimiento de relaciones académicas y de educación directas; el intercambio de personal académico, investigadores y técnicos en áreas de interés común; la promoción conjunta de seminarios, conferencias y congresos científicos; intercambios de becas de estudios; cooperación en el área de la educación superior a través del intercambio de información relacionada con la calidad de la educación, entre otras áreas.

El Acuerdo Marco de Cooperación y el Memorando de Entendimiento, fueron firmados, por el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Roberto Álvarez, en representación de la República Dominicana y por el ministro de Negocios Extranjeros, João Gomes Cravinho, por la República Portuguesa.

Las firmas se realizaron como parte de la agenda de la visita oficial del presidente de la República Portuguesa, al país.

*Condecoraciones*

La agenda oficial, incluyó, además, la imposición de condecoraciones a ambos mandatarios.

La condecoración que otorgó el Gobierno Dominicano al presidente Rebelo De Sousa, fue la Orden del Mérito de Duarte, Sánchez y Mella, en el Grado de Gran Cruz Placa de Oro. En tanto, la condecoración concedida por el Gobierno de Portugal al presidente Abinader es el Grado de Gran Collar de la Orden del Infante De Enrique.
