Santo Domingo, RD- El comunicador Manuel Tavarez Duncan, de 45 años, murió en una riña la madrugada de este viernes en el parqueo del establecimiento Rico Hot Dog, ubicado en la avenida Núñez de Cáceres esquina Romulo Betancourt, en la capital dominicana.
La Policía Nacional confirmó la información a los medios de comunicación, descartando que se haya tratado de un atraco.
Según el informe preliminar de las autoridades, Duncan «llegó a un establecimiento de comida rápida en compañía de un amigo, luego de haber cerrado un negocio de su propiedad».
El vocero de la institución del orden, Diego Pesqueira, explicó que el comunicador y su matador llegaron al lugar casi uno detrás del otro.
Se produjo una discusión entre ellos, en circunstancias aún no esclarecidas, que, de acuerdo a los testimonios recabados por la Policía, se agravó con agresión física y verbal.
«Hay seis personas detenidas por el hecho, aún no podemos dar detalles certeros sobre la investigación», manifestó el vocero esta mañana en conversación con la prensa.
La Policía dijo que los seis detenidos fueron testigos de la muerte y se procede a investigarles para determinar las circunstancias en que ocurrió la muerte.
Sin embargo, Pesqueira acotó que, según las declaraciones preliminares, la tragedia devino cuando el individuo, quien aún no ha sido identificado, fue hasta su vehículo, sacó una arma de fuego y le propinó varios disparos al comunicador.
Las autoridades dicen que el matador, quien aún no ha sido identificado, se desplazaba en un vehículo Mercedes Benz y era un hombre «de avanzada edad», que huyó del lugar tras cometer el crimen.
Duncan era padre de tres niños. Según describe la biografía de su cuenta de Instagram, el occiso era promotor y CEO de la Agencia De Daiskep Consulting.
