La Policía Nacional explicó esta mañana de manera preliminar cómo murieron dos de los supuestos asaltantes de la sucursal del Banco Popular de la avenida Gregorio Luperón con calle Olof Palme.
Diego Pesqueira, vocero de la Policía dominicana, dijo que se produjeron dos enfrentamientos separados con igual número de supuestos asaltantes.
El primero de estos se produjo a la 1:30 de la madrugada de este viernes en un motel de la Autopista 30 de Mayo.
El otro incidente se produjo a las 3:00 de la madrugada, en los alrededores de Santo Domingo Oeste (no se especificó en cuál localidad de ese municipio).
Las dos personas fallecidas fueron identificadas como Richard Michel Estrella Arias, de 25 años y Joan Eduardo Belliard Aybar, de 24 años. Horas antes, a las 9:30 de la mañana del jueves fue arrestado Eddy Manuel Segura Arias, de 26 años, quien según la Policía se entregó de forma voluntaria y quien habría admitido su participación en el asalto.
Prófugo
La Policía Nacional informó que Jorge Luis Estrella Arias, de 36 años, es la persona que se encuentra prófuga y a quien se le ha pedido que se entregue a las autoridades.
Es hermano de Richard Michel, uno de los que perdió la vida en los enfrentamientos y a quien se le señala como el principal cabecilla del hecho. Todos los identificados son dominicanos, dijo la Policía Nacional en su informe preliminar.
