Abre nueva cultura democrática de transparencia frente a la ciudadanía
SANTO DOMINGO. Haciendo historia en la democracia dominicana, el candidato presidencial del Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) y aliados, Luis Abinader, participa en un debate de candidatos presidenciales siendo presidente en ejercicio y encabezando todas las encuestas reconocidas para las elecciones del próximo 19 de mayo.
El presidente Abinader demuestra nuevamente su coherencia y compromiso como ciudadano que decidió participar en política, ha sido un fiel promotor de la transparencia y la administración honesta de los recursos públicos.
El mandatario sienta un precedente, contribuyendo a una nueva democrática al aceptar debatir sus ideas y propuestas.
El candidato Leonel Fernández nunca aceptó debatir siendo presidente y candidato presidencial.
Desde la oposición, Abinader siempre aceptó toda iniciativa que le llegó para compartir y debatir sus ideas.
En la campaña de 2016 fue como representante del PRM, el único candidato de los partidos mayoritarios que acudió al debate de ANJE, pues entonces el PLD gobernante se negó a asistir alegando que “quien está arriba no debate”.
Para las elecciones de 2020, Abinader aceptó ir al debate de ANJE frente al entonces candidato oficialista Gonzalo Castillo, pero el PLD se negó de nuevo a ir al debate.
Para las elecciones de 2008, el presidente candidato Leonel Fernández se negó a debatir con Miguel Vargas, candidato del PRD, porque desdeñó su capacidad para conceptualizar con él y porque dijo llevarle 25 puntos porcentuales de ventaja en las encuestas.
Ahora, Abinader fue el primero en inscribirse en el debate ante ANJE, pese a que lleva una ventaja tan cómoda en las encuestas publicadas que sobrepasa por mucho sus opositores juntos.
Abinader es uno de los pocos gobernantes que respeta la separación e independencia de los poderes del Estado.
Desde que asumió el poder ha fomentado la designación de personas independientes en el Ministerio Público, Defensor del Pueblo, Junta Central Electoral, Cámara de Cuentas, Tribunal Superior Electoral, Tribunal Constitucional y Suprema Corte de Justicia, aún teniendo mayoría para impulsar agentes políticos como era tradicional.
